We could see a fair few changes.  Wouldnt be surprised if there were 4 or 5.  Some players were terrible and some looked knackered.

Id call for Melksham out but Fritta may be suspended, others will howl me down and Goodwin will never drop him so there.

For the love of God get rid of Melksham..

Weed for Thommo

Harmes for Melksham

Chandler for Jones

Bedford for Baker

IN: Sparrow, Weid, Chandler, Bowey
OUT: Jones, Tomlinson, Melksham, Baker

After what Cunnington did today I’m mortified about what the combination of Hickey and JPK do next week.

We are already a bad clearance side but I can see that getting ugly quickly.

I’d seriously look at bringing in Harmes to tag him because we can’t afford for what happened today to happen next week.

The likes of ANB and Spargo will need a rocket too because we know Sydney will try to play keepings-off to beat our zone (like North did for much of today) so our pressure cannot slip one iota.

We’ve beaten Sydney once at the MCG since 2001. They are officially now our number 1 bogey team and have given us all sort of problems over the last 15 years as we’ve won just twice against them.

I guess the big question is does T Mac remain down back or does Petty come in to replace Tomlinson.

That'll do. Close thread.

Our midfield depth is an issue for me.

Viney always has this foot problem.

When Oliver is held like he was for three qrts Trac has do do it all.

Jones is way past his midfield days.

Jordan is good but if Trac or Oliver are injured...we are cooked.

More games into Sparrow.

Who else is there?

Sparrow in for Baker (assuming Viney doesn't get up)

Petty for Tomlinson (or do we go Majak for some X factor?)

Chandler for Jones

If Fritch is rubbed out, Weid in.

* I'm not keen on going the TMac back route - this isn't a stopgap - Tomlinson will be out to mid 2022 if it's an ACL. Time to get some time into Petty for that role.

I saw the Fritsch incident. A fend off elbow to the head.

If the MRO charge him he’ll be missing at least 2 you’d think as the North player was hurt.

So I expect him to miss unfortunately.

The North player played out the game.

If he missed the rest of the game due to concussion then yes I'd be worried.

I would rather see Petty come in and Keep TMac forward where he has been very good.

OUT: Baker, Tomlinson, Brown

That helps in terms of a possible punishment.

Do you think it was a reportable incident?

Fritta will get a week.

Baker has to go.

Tomlinson injured. Poor bloke.

Jones.

 Sparrow.

Petty in for Tommo is a must

Conditions will determine team structure.  If the weather is ok, Weids in for Melksham. Viney to return for baker.

So can Tom play back and we just bring in weiderman to play forward? I'd have a bit more faith having McDonald down back than Petty.

As said the last few changes threads

For the love of God, yes. I can't fathom how he continues to get a game.

IN: WEIDEMAN, SPARROW, HARMES

OUT: TOMLINSON, BAKER, MELKSHAM

Out. Ben Brown, Adam Tomilson, Nathan Jones, Jake Melksham

In. Weidermen, Harmes,  Viney, Bedford

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
