Now second Fav for the flag. Strange that Ben Brown was not in the middle for the song. First win with the team and all.

Maybe Gatorade into an open wound isn't the wisest choice

Important win. Firing on one cylinder in the first half. Got into third gear in the second and that was enough. Six big ones in a row took the wind out of their sails.

Their only chance was to drag us down to their level. Double teaming, scragging, holding off the ball, etc. Although when they had the ball, their level didn't look too bad. Playing in front. Quick ball movement. We didn't help by playing lazy football. But it was one of those days where every odd bounce fell into their laps, odd umpiring decisions went their way, etc. Every dog has his day and North nearly had theirs. But the dam had to burst and it did.

Very important win for self belief. The hurdles keep coming and we keep clearing them.

GO DEMONS!!!

Very hard to keep on winning in this comp...we were ordinary but ground out a win you can’t ask for too much more...shattered for Tommo though

Did anyone else notice tension between Huddo and Healy during the commentary? Not the best of friends I’d say.

I said to my friend what hard work today was. He said “yeah I would hate to work hard to be 7-0”. Has a point... stupid non AFL supporter ?

A 30 point win in Round 1 will give a much higher % than a 30 point win in Round 22....

A correct statement*, but nothing to do with why our percentage went down today. Rackham out.

* mostly

I think we really missed Viney, especially in the first half. He would’ve made Cunnington much more accountable. I hope the toe is not a long term problem

Well at 1/2 time if I was told we'd win by 5 goals I certainly would have taken it.

Boy it was ugly but credit to everyone to get themselves back into it.

I thought James Jordan was really good today and Jackson took another step. Well done on Fritta for his straight kicking and Ben Brown will be better for the game.

We are on top and hopefully the players realise no team can be taken lightly.

We move onto next week.

What is with the language of 'dragging us down'? To anyone who says it, not just you @Mazer Rackham

In the EPL - 15 years ago it was Jose Morinhuo 'parking the bus' as a way to diminish an opponents skill sets.

NMFC exploited our weaknesses... bloody good on them, they should be commended for it.

Cunnington is a rock... I would have had him on our team many years ago.

Each match is a process of refinement anyway, not game after game throughout the season, but against the same team 1, maybe 2, perhaps 3 times a year.

Good on NM.

You  missed a shallow grave by a half of footy LFS!

That other shirt will be washed and retired. Not donated though. If I know where it is no one else can wear it.

Yeah, so like I was saying, I’ve been backing AGAINST us for the last few years and I’m thrilled to announce to all and sundry, this year...

I STILL HAVEN’T WON A SINGLE CENT!!!!

Poor, yes. But OH SO HAPPY!

❤️?❤️?❤️?

What's going on there @ProperDee, got any scuttlebut?

The less said about the first half the better absolutely disgraceful. Thank god they had a good second half. McDonald played well down back keep him there now Tomlinson has unfortunately gone down. Jackson brilliant BOG for mine. Got them back in the game when Gawn was dreadful. Kossie what can't he do? and Clarry is a beast. 7 nil never thought I would see especially at half time when Cunnington who is a superstar and Goldstien were tearing us a new one. GO DEES MASSIVE GAME AGAINST THE SWANS GOT TO KEEP THE RUN GOING.

First half our midfield lacked the 2021 effort we expect and we seriously missed having Viney as the defensive stoppage mid.

The forwardline was out of kilter which was not unexpected as they rejigger with Big Benny Brown.

The backline was off focus and out of kilter seeing one their 7 go down and distraught.

We then won the game with 15 minutes of 2021 Demons footy mainly thanks to LJ, Pickett and Langdon. Then Oliver, Lever and May made sure they didn’t open the door back up.

Got it done. That’s what good teams do. Interested to see the changes next week to rebalance us and rid ourselves of Melksham who was putrid all game.

Losing Viney in the selected side made huge difference

team is immediately unbalanced

Not sure what’s been said here and elsewhere so apologies if this had been covered a million times but I spoke to Burgo after the game and Tomlinson ACL unfortunately.

FWIW . . . the Norf list is in better long term shape the the Filth's, Horethorn and Calscum. And that's something to very definitely be celebrated.

We had a couple of poor quarters.  We were due for a couple.

We never really applied the chokehold either preferring to keep the game slow and grind it out.

Job done.

No EO but there were a few snipes back and forth between the pair throughout the afternoon. Dunstall never said a word.

Cool (I don't really care, about people I don't know) - but was GH more supportive of The Dees or was AH salty re: Geelong's loss?

Anybody seen Dr. D?

Yep. Just saw in him the bathroom. Pushed the button and he was gone in an instant!

Jordon is putting together a good body of work. Doesn’t get the attention of Kozzie and Jackson but very impressive and definitely in the best 22

Yeah that was pretty obvious when he came out of the rooms in tears. They do the Lachmann test which is pretty good indicator of an ACL injury.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
