We are so far off it, it's not funny. Still only 5 points down.

Baker is a poor footballer.

Not working hard enough at all. Getting schooled in the uncontested 82 to 46. Need a rocket up the pants

Doubling us in uncontested possessions. Absolutely inexcusable.
Total lazy rubbish. Too many players ball watching. Fritta our only winner.
Gawn and Oliver properly drinking it up.

We are being outplayed, outmatched, outmarked snd outsmarted by the bottom team. This is ridiculous. Pull your head in dees ?

North have been starting games well and it's unsurprising they're giving us some cheek.  However, there's only a goal in it and I'm confident we'll still win and win well.

Shame about Thommo.  Come on down, Harry Petty.

Isn't he out injured as well?  Maybe get White on the list (again)!

Baker too one dimensional, plain and simple

Has not been good.

Poor Harmes.

Watching Tomlinson is breaking my heart. It’s just so so awful.

North have done this most game this season but fallen away in the second half. Still we look a bit off.

North have started several games well this year. The trend is they always drop off in the second half.

No need for panic.

Yet.

Based on the quality of the teams we should be six goals up by now.

Well that was borderline embarrassing.

Midfield getting spanked.

Melksham tagging Zeibel? If so, he’s doing a terrible job.

We just don’t look up to it today

Losing Viney and Tomlinson hasnt helped but yea we look flat .

Petty was named as an emergency for this game, so it seems like he's ok to go.

Missing Viney big time

Gawn has got to get his [censored] together. You’re the captain. Stand up.

Very lazy today and playing like trash, yet still only a few points down. Once we get going we should get well on top.

Sidenote, Baker is not up to it. Doesn’t ha e the smarts, skills or stamina on the wing or in the middle. Only chance left to save his career is as a pressure forward IMO. His only good game at afl level thus far was when he kicked a few ripping goals.

Ok this start doesn't surprise me. But Christ we need to lift.

Shattered for Tomlinson.

We need to start manning up on them. The uncontested count is disgraceful.

Lift Melbourne

Umpires continue to make strange decisions. Missing a lot

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
