Jordon had a great game. Would be very stiff.

Drop Jones? FMD. What better extra motivation for the boys to get over the line for Nate’s 300th?

I would take out Jordon, M. Brown and ANB for BBB, The Weed and Bedford. Sparrow stays as sub.

No way Jones is getting dropped for next week. After that ...

I think he was playing the first 6 games this year regardless

No ecstatic.  5-0.

A few changes needed though as the Tigers have an extra 3 day break than us and will be fresh as a daisy.

Yeah good point. We need some fresh legs to come in, would actually justify his omission well, to save a bit of face and bring him back in a few weeks for a deserved milestone

I have been a Demon supporter since 1959. I was nine years old then.I went to the footy as often as I could. I stopped going as often as I could after 1965: I mainly went with my brother and my son who were both Fitzroy supporters. I listened though, followed them, went to a few games in 1976 and when Barassi first came back. Then came the Northey and early Balme Resurrection and I listened to most games. Then the cruel last two years of Balme when injuries decimated us, then that weird but often great Daniher period, when I still listened. Which is a long winded way of saying I can't listen or watch live any more, not even in 2018. I watch the replays the nest day if we win. I do keep up with the stats though.  In the meantime, I was glad they didn't drop Jordon after an ordinary game last week and was thrilled when I saw he got a bit of the ball today: I felt really happy for him. In the meantime, I'll watch the highlights tonight, the full replay tomorrow and I will cast my 6,5,4,3,2,1 after that. Go Dees.

AnB fought back really well in the second half. Did some nice things.

Agreed. When a player redeems early mistakes within the same game as ANB did today, you don't drop them.

Would like to think that one of May or Fritsch could be ready again - though the shorter turnaround doesn't help.

You can't not put Weideman in, but Ben Brown was playing more up the ground apparently, so goals not everything. Hard to see us having Jackson, Tom Mac, Weideman and Ben Brown in the same team, especially as you'd have to drop a smaller forward to do so. But ...?

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
