We are the real deal, though the bath water can look deceptively refreshing.

I think the question is, are we one of the top 4 clubs? It won't be answered against the Hawks today.

It is a long season and by round 16 I reckon we will know.

This game, is about being able to bring the effort and skills required to put away failing teams. The old flat track bully, would be great to see.

A win will keep the momentum and confidence.

A loss, there will be some soul searching, though it will not be the end of us.

I hope we don't fall into the trap of playing at their level, need to keep up the standards. Make them look ordinary, with our relentless pressure and no unforced errors.

Jackson to have his breakout game.

Jordan to get 30 disposals.

ANB and Sparg's to get that forward pressure stat above 200.

Clearances in our favour.

Oliver, Rivers and Tom to be in our best.

Go Dees.

Think this is our biggest test so far, have to bury teams like hawthorn.M.Brown is a great inclusion ,think he might play up the ground like Tmac and Tmac players deep forward to cover fritters spot

We must apply the heat and pressure from the first bounce.

The Hawks are dogged and resolute but are lacking some class particularly in their forward line. They came from the clouds to beat Essendon in rd 1 so there’s nothing wrong with their ticker. Should have beaten the cats on Easter Monday. Were competitive v Richmond. We can’t take them for granted at all. And they still have the master coach calling the shots. He’ll have a plan for us no doubt.

We have the advantage in midfield and our defensive structures will hold. Looking forward to seeing how Petty and Hibbo go here. Kicking goals will be our challenge. The forward line has a very makeshift look to it so we could really do with Tmac clunking and converting a few, with an even contribution from the rest and our mids chipping in as well. Perhaps 2 or 3 from Maxxy.

I expect a tough hard-fought battle today but we’ll win by 25 points or thereabouts.

Go Dees

Just one more game for Jones to 300,can't wait for it to happen

Hawthorn will give an honest account of themselves. Whether we put them away as we should or come out flat will tell us a lot about whether we have improved our mindset or not. I’m pretty confident we will handle this comfortably.

Losing both May and Jetta from the backline makes me uneasy, however we should win easily still.

Don't understand why Jetta is omitted,I felt like he was the glue holding the back line together

Casey start at 12 and still no teams

It's on Casey Demons Instagram. Laurie not playing which is surprising. He must be injured.

Clarkson worries me. He's a good gameday coach.

Melksham to kick 4 and silence the tiresome conspiracy theory about special treatment for a few more weeks.

Watched his younger brother run up and down the wing all day yesterday at John Foord Oval. His change of angle and kick into CHF reminds me of what Jake done so effectively in 2018. Would love to see his return to form.

Tmac and Mbrown both play similar style, covering ground and creating ground balls. Will only hold marks if they don't fly against each other. It does provide good separation and alternate targets. I imagine this will be a feature when Weid and Bbrown also take the field together. Could be a good introduction to patterns to be adopted through the season. All of these forwards are good players and could be our point of difference. Tmac and Mbrown must be careful that they don't both lead too far out without leaving at least one tall deep, perhaps Gawn or Jackson.

This is a real test of our coaching.

Im just waiting for Jackson to have that breakout game that will indicate his ability to dominate. He is a rare talent and it is beautiful sight to see him moving so fluidly to position.

Our midfield and flankers should be licking their lips with the multiple targets to direct their attacks towards

Not sure who will kick our goals. Time for Tommy to kick 3-4 And hopefully Brown kicks his usual 2.

Always have a bad feeling about the Hawks.

Yze will have his measure, helping Goodwin.

Time for TMAC and Jacko to deliver and kick some goals. Both have been good respectively, but no impact on the scoreboard which we need today.

we must get some percentage today. I did a ladder predictor and i think the top 4 will be determined by % to  a fair degree

We need a big win Come on Dees

Despite the Naysayers, I believe Tmac has been in great form excluding one game.

If he turns it on today we will win comfortably.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
