If it goes like it seems it will, how much pressure will Buckley be under, especially now his big brother protector has moved on?

When is Greene OOC and can we get him

i want a hated player playing for us

3 years left to run

On Kayo tonight, I watched simultaneously GCS v CAR & COL v GWS. F'n great service for $5 a month.

The tackle wasn't out of the ordinary (wasn't paid as late) and Dursma's leg locks/hyper-extends as he lands causing him to buckle unpredictably. Nothing in it.

So you're saying the umpires never miss things?  The tackle was clearly late.  See what the medical report has to say, but if he's ended a kid's season through a late tackle then he shouldn't be playing the next week.  It shouldn't just be for concussions.

Goal Umpires are Redundant

Are you saying they might go the way of the tram conductor? But i loved the tram connies....

Wow pressure on buckley now and he hasn't got his mate Ed there backing him up. Wonder how Ed enjoyed that tonight.

I just can't believe they knocked the pies off by 5 goals, I mean the giants are so injury depleted and they are important players to.

Trouble at Mill in Pie Land

They booted the wrong players out

Hate to say it ... but Darcy Moore is so good.

And for some reason I don't mind Daicos. Pretty much hate the rest.

I might pop over to the Big Footy/Filth board.

Also saw a bit of Leicester v Newcastle on a split screen of the last quarter of GCS v CAR. Turned the sound down - was awesome...

The filth. LOL

Would he be just as heartless in the red and blue??

One can only assume.

id target Greene and Whitfield

Saints beat WC and Giants beat pies.

anyone still think we haven’t beaten any decent teams?

Fair point about the umpires but after watching it about 10 times, I don't think the tackle is the major influence on the injury. His knee hyper-extends just before the follow-through of the tackle.

I'd be very disappointed if a player in a red and blue jumper - in the same situation - didn't lay the tackle.

Carlton and Gold Coast are both sh it.
Either should be a 4 point given for us - if we’re fair dinkum

That was an awful game.

Absolutely. He's one of the best players in the game right now.

A chance to knock those puddy cats outta the eight tomorrow and put a decent gap between the top three and the rest.  Let's go Demons!

Both are very good.

Here's a weird piece of trivia;

The last time both Melbourne and Carlton were both in the top eight at the end of a round was round 14, 2011.

The last time Melbourne, Carlton and Richmond were all in the top eight at the end of a round was round 7, 2001.

I think we missed an opportunity to really touch up the saints.

?

Tomorrow is now desperately needed as a win (like not life threatening or season ended or anytfing), will really seperate us as top 3 over a massive competing pack of teams to make the 8.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • PREGAME: Fremantle

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
