If you didn’t know any better you could be forgiven for thinking this is two bottom 8 teams slugging it out.

For everyone moaning about Kelli Underwood last week, have a listen to BT and and James Brayshaw. She’s no different from anyone else calling the game.

Huh? This is a great game. And to bonus Richmond are losing.

Plenty of heat in this one now. Port need to convert though.

Butters is a star, and apparently we tried hard to get him.

This is a great game but gee you just know all those shots port missed in that quarter will come back to bite them. Port should be 3-5 goals up.

Skills wise the level has been absolutely deplorable.

This is some game, surely it can’t keep being played at this frenetic pace in the second half. Port should be 5 goals up but for poor set shot kicking. Richmond is living off intercepts and running the ball all the way to the goal square thus their accuracy that is keeping them in the game. Second half will be interesting.

Port smashed the Tigers that Q, they should be 30 points up but for horrific kicking. 3.7 and at least 2 on the full.  wow

Are we watching the same game? Yes there are errors but look at the frenetic pace and intensity of the game.

Hard to be skillful when milliseconds are all you have. Both sides are on

one will crack

I agree ... the pace of the game is furious & exhilarating.  And they are playing in slippery conditions

I'm wondering if our team could keep up!

Thoroughly enjoying the spectacle (with just the right amount of goals)

Just missed out on the telegram from his missus.

The only real Royal.

"the only time you open a car door for a lady is its a new car or a new lady.'

Will be interesting to see if Duursma gets some kind of MRP review, the ball was dead and the port player completely vulnerable and not expecting a bump. Could’ve been really dangerous had his head hit the LED sign, it’s a really thuggish thing to do.

The commentary team keep talking up the mullet man but to me he looks like he might have a good career in the SANFL...skills on tonight's showing not to AFL level.

9 blokes injured and poor old Sub Mayes still can't get a run.  Harsh

Bloody hell Brian Taylor is hopeless. A waste of space and airtime.

Who the hell decides he should be employed in any capacity?

Watching on Kayo.  What is the point !

its 10 minutes behind. Better to listen to the ABC and watc a replay. Absolutely rubbish.  At least last year with Telstra it was only 30 seconds behind

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
