After Round 3 I would have Kozzie, Oliver and Gawn in the AA team for sure.

Not sure if Lloyd has started his rolling All Australian team on the Sunday Footy show yet this season, would be good to see which Demons he has in it.

Ed Langdon would also have to be in some consideration.

I'm sure when the time comes to pick the actual side we'll see a Joel Selwood or Lachie Neale on a wing instead...

They will put Josh Bruce on the wing.

Clayton Oliver 100 or so possesions in 3 games at this rate will chalk up 700 possessions for the year. What is the record??

A.A Easy!!

Yes changed my original post to add him.  I was too harsh on him for being tagged out of the GWS game for the 1st half but he could have 6 Brownlow votes in the first 2 games

I reckon they'll correct last year's mistake and give Maysie a jacket this year as well.

I agree.

Plus Harris Andrews has had a mixed start to the year and i haven't seen any other KPD put their hand up.

Darcy Moore would be a lock for the AA team if it was selected now.

Ah. Hadn't thought of Moore. Is he better than May though? McKay did kick 4 on him. Although having said that, Greene did kick a few on May at the weekend.

Right now, we have about 7 players who would be in the conversation (plus Hibberd, of course, who didn't need the first few rounds of the season for his last AA jersey!), which says something about the evenness of our team this year: May and Lever down back would both be in the frame (although I'd say both are currently on the cusp); Langdon would be a lock for the wing if the selectors truly valued that role; Kozzie is looking very dangerous up forward and would have to be a chance for the FP; Gawn has been superb in his most recent 6 quarters but has probably done enough; and Oliver and Petracca have both started very well.

Don't overlook Petracca just yet - he's got a high benchmark and is not playing 100% there at the moment but is currently posting career best stats (28 touches, 6 marks, 3 tackles and a goal a game). If he nailed a few more of his in-play shots on goal, we'd be talking about him and the Brownlow already.

Oliver, Langdon, Kozzi, Lever, Trac in the conversation

I wonder of the master of best 22's @WERRIDEE is across the form of players from all clubs and could give us the current AA side?

I only really follow Melbourne not the other teams. but as Dub Dee said we will have about 7 or 8 in the conversation as will Sydney the Bulldogs and West Coast who are the teams on fire ATM.

Interesting. I have a friend who is a mad St Kilda supporter who, like you, doesn’t follow other teams. I thought he’d be the only fan with that approach. (He’d never heard of Caleb Daniel or even about the new man on the mark rule, but he seemed to know the vital statistics of every Saints player.)

It’s great to be passionate, but the trouble is that it is easy to get carried away with our ability and not have a realistic view of the opposition.

A lot of hype about Moore but he gets a lot of goals kicked on him

I personally think Moore is overrated. Good, but overrated.

Still, the same people who are gushing over him are the ones picking the AA team so he's in.

If Salem keeps up his form he would be in the conversation.  Very difficult to be considered among the best couple of back flankers in the comp though, there are some guns in that position.  But man has he been good so far this year.

Room for both. Moore is much more comparable to Lever with his roaming intercept style of play. He has been in great form.

Only seen Moore v Carlton and he let McKay off the chain. Very difficult to play intercept role and take the No.1 forward for the opposition. It's a tall order if that's what the coaching brains trust at collingwood expect from him.

Lever has been pretty good so far. What the chances both May and Lever make the team? It would be some effort if they both managed it.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
