The saints ruckman are actually paying attention to him. No easy marks behind the play

1 mark and 2 kicks is just not enough.

Did little last week.

I know he is a champ bit needs to lead by example

Stop talking the talk. Ml

Great to see us turn momentum around in the qtr very unusual for us. Lever and Tomlinson on key forwards is a worry for me. Max is looking lost at the moment, hopefully he can find his mojo quickly.

Doing well against a good side - but still lack real class at the top end in order to finish off. Oliver is great, but Billings is dangerous, and that's the difference.

Should be dropped after a good game! He's proven he doesn't have 2 good ones in him

He wasn’t good!!

Side note: Langdon is definitely a superior wingman to Hill and cost half the price. We nailed that trade!

We have a half here to win the game, go to 2-0 and set up our season.  This is it.  The time is now.

There are no more excuses for Goodwin or anybody else and there are certainly no honorable losses.

Keep two forwards in our forward half at all times, we win this game.

First half of that second quarter we had no one one forward of 50 and it killed us.

Viney getting caught with the ball was not his fault. He literally had nothing to go to.

Would be hard to tell on TV.

shame Kossie wasn't swaning by at that moment

Calling you tmac.

Plese dont let last week be an anomaly.

I noticed late in the second you can hang off him in marking duels, no free but don’t try that on King. It must be an age, experience thing with the umpires. You know I always thought the rules applied equally to all players regardless of age.

think the cab sav is killing my spelling ability.Just on the side cricket victoria is in deep trouble

Pleased we fought back because alarm bells were ringing half way through that quarter. We don’t have enough weapons to drop off in the middle, it is our strength.

It is Spud’s Game, but that doesn’t mean StK need to be helped to victory.

You mean there's another team playing?

Petracca needs to stand up in the second half.

Luke Jackson I the ruck turned the momentum for us.

Straight after I said that he wasn't ready...

dazzle - can you please say that Fritsch can’t kick for goal, and that umpires can’t be even handed.

Our forwards are horrible.

McDonald is back to his 2020 form

Kick it to our blokes

Stupid and dangerous from Oliver. Lucky he didn’t knock the guy out.

My heart just missed a beat what was Oliver thinking very lucky

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
