I have just received my 2021 Melbourne Membership Pack in the mail. CARN THE DEMONS in 2021

just to let you know.....got sms to advise membership package mailed today

don't know why they leave it till 9 days before xmas

should be able to mark as xmas present when paying and those ones should be prioritised and mailed earlier

given current auspost performance i am not optimistic

Australia Post must spend a fortune on storage and freight.  I would have thought it cheaper to deliver the mail rather than store and move it. I have posted a letter in the Mansfield post office addressed to a Mansfield Post Office Box. It is sent to Melbourne for sorting then sent back to Mansfield mail centre where they resort and send to the Post Office where they put it in the post box just 4 metres from where I posted it in the first place! You have to wonder.

I think I said I don't need all the pack only entry card whick I again think was electronic on my phone. Really don't care when that comes as I won't be going to a game this side of July.

Well it makes a good story, but if the PO is concerned with overall efficiency, such oddities may be inevitable. Maybe you should lobby for a "local mail only" post box.

The 2021 kids pack (arrived today) is absolutely fantastic. Great selection of things in there for them including personalised stickers, which was a great touch.

Well done to whomever co-ordinates that part of it all.

Why can't you get the Australian Post staff to place it into the P.O. Box if You give it to them by hand ?

Seems more sensible.

They are not allowed to! They roll their eyes and put it in the mailbag going to Melbourne. If I pay extra ($1 per letter) they can put it straight in.

Certainly agree ManDee at $1 per letter that's over the top but a parcel at that rate would be ok I feel and Maybe  is ?

exactly. and we have this issue every year. not saying it is all mfc's fault as i think all afl clubs share some common process. i'll also concede a covid year has probably added difficulties....but again i emphasise it is a yearly problem for those who pay early and gift a membership as a xmas present

surely you jest. austpost has had a shocking year and its been declining for a few years. the problems are well documented publicly and are legion.

Agree on the Lord Nev. My kids x 3 just received their packs and I reckon they have done a great job with personalised stickers, key chains, beer cooler bag etc.

Be Friday or Monday based on the gap between SMS and pack arriving for me.

Lapel pin as thanks for paying 2020 in full a bit of a joke. Hobart Hurricanes gave me a players shirt, and getting a training shirt with members names sublimated into from Parramatta.

I signed up for a digital membership, and I already regret it. Firstly I can already tell given the AFL is running the digital memberships that it is going to be a big dumpster fire, as apparently the membership and tickets  are loaded together as the fixture gets released. Trusting the AFL to do anything digitally, especially in combination with the powerhouse that is Ticketmaster (remember the joys of trying to buy finals tickets on their server?) doesn't sound good. Had I known the digital membership was being run by the AFL I wouldn't have signed up for it.

Secondly, they still mailed me a pack, which is pointless because I asked for a digital membership to save on paper, and the pack itself was completely empty except for a thank you pin for sticking with the club in 2020. WTF?

If you are going to waste postage and trees and plastic, all the things I specifically didn't want, can you at least send me some stickers so I can drive around in my 4WD with my Melbourne sticker like a [censored]?! Uncool.

All that single malt and free Pinot you quaff should be better than any vaccination !!

I thought it was just a lunch box cooler, but maybe your kids are tougher than mine! ;)

My 18 year old daughter receiving the “adult” membership pack, for the first time, complained there was no pencil case and face paint!

Prefer to be alive than watch an average football club Bbo.

Looks like a TV game for me in 2021.

Received our packs on the doorstep in a timely manner, with notifications from Auspost all the way from despatch to delivery, so no complaints from here. Thanks Auspost!

Got the plastic cards, yes, give me the plastic! ( Underwhelmed about the hole punched in the top to thread the lanyard through. Not a lanyard fan. Oh well, had to find something to complain about. It's still 2020.)☺️

well, kudos to austpost this time

package arrived this morning

The best part of having deleted all of my MFC supporters facebook accounts (with the exception of DL of course) is that I don't now have to scroll past the thousands of nuffies that like to post a photograph of the exact same membership pack that we all get every year. Simple pleasures.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
