Farewell Sam Weideman

Featured Replies

Do we trade him now, potentially for a 2nd round pick or do we let him battle away at the Casey Wind Tunnel for a year, by the end of which he'll be out of contract and off to a new home?

If we're bringing in BBB we may as well trade Weid now whilst he has some currency.

Brown and Weideman as the key talls with Jackson as the utility...

Are you serious? We're not bringing in BB to be our only key forward. Weid will play second tall forward, with Jackson forward/ruck.

Why are posters seemingly so keen to move on Weideman (and Brayshaw)?

I want to see Weideman playing alongside Ben Brown where he will benefit from not drawing the best defender.

In all seriousness though, he is a young KPP who has shown ability. He hit the comp well this year with high goals per game ratio as our no. 1 KPF, with limited back up.

His stock is probably all time low on the trade matket and he has upside and he has the chance to play alongside BB next year.

IMO trading him now is a poor choice.

It's a bit of a mare this one. Are you a bit angry we brought him in, mate?

We clearly targeted Brown to play alongside Weideman.

This gives us tremendous flexibility with Jackson and straightens us up massively.

The cherry on top is he'll cost us a second rounder at most.

Win, win, win.

I think Weid is serious talented by I do worry he doesn't have much dog in him....whatever that means.

Sure, but he needs less dog in him now that he'll have the second defender.

Having Brown on the ground is going to be a massive win for Weideman.

Only if they are stupid.

I reckon we should trade Christian Petracca for a third rounder now we know Clarry is staying for another year?

Been on the turps today 'Dee'???

Is Samuel brothers with Sam? :)

ive never understood the idea that he doesn't go hard. when i watch him play he jumps aggressively at the ball in the air.

Is his name actually Samuel? Or is it just Sam?

I think that's the more important issue here.

What a shocker of a trade..?‍♂️

2 big key forwards who don't get a lot of the ball and don't offer any defensive pressure. It's just not going to happen.
