Apparently Collingwood has changed its website banner from 'side-by-side' to 'made-by-many'.  Can't confirm the first part.

If it has been changed, coincidence or damage control.  I suggest the latter - usually they make a big fanfare of such things.

But what are they thinking 'Made-by-many' is soooo boring and uninspiring.

Might only take a phone call with a new offer and expression of admiration for him and his reborn future at his club.

Nothings impossible. However, North have to go into rebuild mode now and are unlikely to play finals in the next 3 to 4 year period - Brown's likely career span. He turns 28 in a few days time.

I thought you were joking, but I checked their website (so others don't have to) and you're right!

WTF does does 'made by many' even mean?

Made by many; destroyed by back-ended contracts!

I also couldn't believe it so I checked their website before posting.

'Side-by-side' is a good battle-cry but 'made-by-many'...bland, bland, bland.

I was wondering who is going to drop out of the 8 so we can replace them.  I know the answer:  Collingwood!!  They are a bit of a mess.

Hopefully its either 31 or 33 and switch of picks, rather than 26

I don't think that really matters too much.  There isn't a whole of difference between them - if it's 26 and a swap of fourth rounders of something then that's a terrific outcome for us.

Can't shake the feeling the delay is to do with us wanting to expand this deal to include something else. or potentially getting a player involved.

Sounds like we've given North a variety of options - some reports say that we've thrown up names like ANB or Vanders in these discussions - but North aren't keen on any of them.  Looks like they just want picks, or the players they may have asked for (like a Harmes) is off the table.  I don't mind us trying a few different things as long as we get the deal done in the end.

Damn, we really only getting Ben Brown after finishing 9th in a highly lacklustre season......

:(

Yeah for sure, just a coleman medalist who has kicked nearly 200 goals in the last 4 years. and getting him for a 2nd round pick. horrible off season.

Don't think he has won a Coleman. Few seconds and thirds.

Actually that’s quite a major and iconic change given that “side by side” is part of their theme song and heritage.

We finished 9th. Ben Brown is a 200cm mature proven key forward and goal kicker. 5 of our 8 losses we won the inside 50 count.

Yep disappointing.

As I said when Treloar move was mooted. Unless Pies paid at least $300k each year for the 5 years of the contract he was staying. Looks like when Dunkley goes he comes in.

Pies will still need to do a bit of clearing so guess Stephenson will be a Roo today and HOPEFULLY Phillips a Demon.

Treloar is going to the bulldogs. time to move on from that fantasy guys. he'll be involved in the Dunkley deal.

Treloar is a risk I did not want to happen.

Collingwood list management is a hot mess. The person dishing out their contracts must be the ones doing Trump's taxes... 'she'll be right'.

This fire sale is amusing.

That looks close to about right...

Their willingness to part with $100k for next season was always a joke.

It's going to cost them big time.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
