Just watched this. He's an outstanding young man. Level headed, down to earth and family orientated. We're lucky to have him.

Petracca  took his game to another level this year  however in the second half of the season he found an extra gear and shot to the next level again,  2 levels in one season Imo .  The Brownlow medal count will be interesting to see in which  rounds  he votes best.

Christian can dream of winning a B&F as a young boy as he did,  one day it might be a Brownlow. However l hope he dreams of winning a Premiership with our great club The Mighty Dees!

His interview after the Fremantle (Sydney?) loss confirms Christian tells it like it is. So his NAB piece here seems like an insight into how players at this top level might actually fundamentally feel: that 'success' lies in getting there, being there, performing there, excelling there, staying there, enjoying there, on a weekly basis; that 'ultimate' success to them may be a happy (and rare) consequence, rather than a driver, of their week-in-week-out, career-long efforts directed at the more fundamental success?

Supporters' focus is a little different, of course?...

He is going to become the player which drives the team to move up the ladder, this is what we have been missing for a very long time at our club.

2021 can't come fast enough for me, looking forward to the club going up to the next level.

Well done Trac?

He had a contract year this year and what concerns me is how often he mentioned it. Really hope he trains as hard next preseason as he did this one.

How is that relevant?  He signed his contract extension before the season started.  Had a stellar year.

I thought the same thing. Occasionally players like Brodie Grundy have a poor season after signing a contract, which could've happened to Petracca but thankfully didn't.

Perhaps the poster is concerned that he won't be as dedicated this pre season as he was last pre season - just prior to signing his extension in March 2020.

Would love nothing more than Petracca signing a marquee 5 year extension this time next year and becomes one of the MFC's best and most loyal player in its history.

It feels like Tracc has grown into a man and an elite athlete before our very eyes in the past 18 months, what a brilliant year he has had. let's hope that those closest to him are also inspired to follow his leadership over the next couple of years, we could become awesome.

Well done Christian Petracca. !!!!!

Extreme MFCSS by the poster.  Can't see Christian dropping his standards.

Player Managers align their player's contract with the FA year.  Then it becomes a game of cat and mouse to see what the market is before player decides what to do so we may need to wait for 2 years.

But if we are top 4 and contending for the premiership in the next 2 years I would expect Salem, Petracca, Brayshaw, Oliver, Weideman etc to sign up for longer terms regardless of FA.

Commentators would love to mention them discussing their basketball backgrounds together ?

Imagine if the penny drops for Gus, Oliver, Harmes, and they train as hard as Trac... I expect they all see that as the minimum level to get to now and challenge each other.

I'm reminded of Trent Rivers in an interview post the 3 pt win vs Saints, where he said with 5 mins to go in the game "Maysie told me to give him my best 5 minutes and he'll give me his". I reckon Trac has adhered to this all season, and all players driving each other to elite standards like this only holds us in good stead going forward. This is good culture.

Mind you, not sure where that was in the last qtr vs Essendon.

What an outstanding leader May is (and for that matter Lever as well ) This is the sort of moment that shapes a young players outlook on the game and I have no doubt, in years to come Rivers will be saying exactly this to some young team mate at a crucial point in a game )

For what it's worth I reckon Rivers has got leadership written all over him.

Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE
