MITCH BROWN

Interested in other's thoughts, I wanted him in the side a lot over the season but for reasons best known to the match committee was overlooked time and again.

He is a very smart footballer, knows where to run, can take a contested mark, disposes well  and is not afraid to put his body in. He ticks a lot of boxes! Could have kicked a couple more goals, but I thought his last 2 games were Excellent!

One the basis that we lack players with "Smarts" I reckon he deserves at least a one year deal with triggers for beyond.

I would be disappointed but not surprised given its the MFC and some decision making re Contracts have been in the past, "Lacking" that he may not be offered but,,,

I hope he gets another gig at MFC

I thought he was good on Saturday but seemed to be playing further up the ground

A medium level journeyman.

It's a pity we need him but without TMac in form I see little alternative.

My bigger worry is Melksham and Hannan

Also need to get LJ and Rivers under 3 year contracts asap

Saw someone liken him to Pedo, think a player like him is needed given question marks over Smith, Tmac, Petty etc

I'd happily keep. Played a much better role then McDonald has dished put the past 6 months.

Keep! Good, honest footballer, who works bloody hard.

Agree. Sign up for 2021.
He’s a good honest natural footballer. Showed enough to get another year. His hunger and smart footy was very much needed in our forward line.  A true Pedersen type.

I have noticed that the last 2 games he has been chasing kicks and taking marks and linking up the ground. also found in the back half to help out against GWS where he helped win the game in the last quarter.

Put in a good one against his old club and is a   shue in for a 1 year contract at the least IMO.    He reminds me a lot of Cam Pederson that was a real honest goer and did well for us.

Yep. I really like him. Has a bit of that Cam Pedersenesque spirit to him, will play beyond the expectations of his talent. Also seems to know that a footy bounces in an odd fashion, and gets himself to the right spots.

Whether or not he’s around next year may depend on how we go at the trade period. If we manage to land a second key forward then that shoves him down the pecking order pretty quickly. I’d be giving him another year though, handy depth.

Definitely another year. Should have played many more games in the place of Tom McD. I like a player with courage and smarts. Keep.

Extend his second year as a rookie.

He was terrible in the first game of the year but his last 2 games were ok .plays with enthusiasm and has a bit of zip .But if we are to become successful we need replace 30 yr old journeyman like Mitch with a bit of quality .We dont bat low enough at the moment so we should be concentrating on players who  might not  be A graders but are clearly of AFL standard and Mitch doesnt fit this profile ..

Put him up back and he’d be every bit as good as Lever.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
