Trade Targets

Hoping the Dees interest in Brayden Maynard has substance.

Otherwise I think Ed Richards at the Bulldogs should be worth looking at.  Good skilled midfielder wingman type. Left footer.  Dogs has surplus of his type and he’d be a good addition at the Dees. Injured for first half of 2021 but should be back in next few rounds.

Posted in another thread that we have, alongside a number of clubs, met with Richards management. He certainly seems as though a realistic target. The less he plays the more likely he is on the move.

Any chance we could snatch Tanner Bruhn out of the giants?

Ben Ainsworth.  Unbelievable that he can’t get a game for the Suns. I have only seen a few games but he is strong, good kick for goal, good overhead and has skills. Not sure if it’s his workrate or simply that Suns are preferring to push Flanders and Rankine ahead of him.

Too soon. Plus another Geelong boy that they will try to grab in a few years.

has been out with a fractured ankle for 10 weeks just came back on friday night and had 25 playing back in a more suited HB role

Bugger didn't know he was a Geelong fan, scratch that then

Would try to angle for an Angus Brayshaw for Cerra trade.

Cerra plays the wing better and Jordan/Sparrow clearly ahead of Brayshaw on the inside now.

You’d probably need to chuck in our 2022 first rounder as well for that to happen.

Have heard from a normally reliable source that Brayden Maynard is a certainty to be a Dee next year?

This is fremantle we are talking about. With there trade history they will be throwing there 22 first rounder back our way with Cerra

Maynard would be a nice Hibbo replacement but surely we go after some form of point of difference....another fast winger, damaging medium sized forward

Brad Hardie isn't renowned for being reliable :-)

I hope you are right. I would love to see Maynard to play for Melbourne next season. I wonder if the new appointment will be the difference of him staying or leaving.

New appointment of the Collingwood coach.

Very, very average IMO and certainly a missed top 10 pick there.

What on earth are we going to trade for Brayden Maynard?

two 2021 second rounders to give the filth the points they need to claim daicos OR our first rounder in 2022 for mine

get it done

Don't know.

But Collingwood have every right to ask for a late 1st rounder.

Can't really say I believe this story as I think it really is Brad Hardie going on one of his drunken antics.

But Maynard would be a massive massive recruit for us. I rate him extremely highly.

With you Dazzle, if the Pies agreed to less than a first rounder i'd be worried they knew something we didn't..

he's a gun, and would cover the loss of Hibberd when he retires perfectly, but i'd imagine we'd have to be very crafty at the trade table to get it done.

Doesn’t have much dog in him so can’t see it happening, I’ve always thought in a strong side, as an icing on the top player, he could be very good

I think our focus needs to be around developing a key tall by trading into the top 10 or seeing if there are any still very young outside the box types at state level ... Weid looks like he won't make it and tmac and BBB will do the job but won't be around in about 3 years when our youthful mids in Trac, Oliver, Jordan, Harmes, Brayshaw are still running rampant through the middle

Solid mail Cerra will be a Tiger next year.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
