He’s a shocking kick for goal.

Not according to the highly paid so called experts.

Each time he lines up for a shot commentators wax lyrical about his exquisite foot skills.

Right before he shanks it.

We were struggling all quarter with clearances and CPs. Our first quarter dominance disappeared.

We defended well for the first 3/4 of that quarter but from the Lever turnover onwards we just couldn't stop them.

Had our chances (Fritsch's late miss and ANB's infuriating failure to run closer to goal before kicking) but if we don't get back on top in the middle we won't win.

Yep as always, we have a dumb game plan that relies on one thing and one thing only. Dominate clearances. When that doesn’t happen, and it rarely does, we fall apart quicker than a house of cards.

The umpiring is a joke. Not talking bias just ridiculous, all these in the backs and highs just aren’t there, it is what naturally happens if you actually tackle someone and they go to ground. Then you have the De Boar cameo! Should be charged for staging.

And two first round draft picks. Absolutely reamed.

1 goal, and 1 pick when you look at the value of what we got back.

Also has repelled a number of Giants forward entries.

Yes, the turnover was appalling, but on the whole doing well so far.

Anyone got one of those online defibrillators.

Honestly I don't feel well.

That's probably because I just a couple of glasses labelled "Romsey Manor"

Is that a real winery or one of those fortified jobs?

It’s the silly turnovers that always kill us

Viney, lever and the umps have been best on for the big big sounds giants .

Someone needs to tell viney he doesn't need to take on every player.

Melksham needs to go back to the forward line. He has turned over the ball a few times.

Max seriously your foot skills are shocking.

Baker looking alright.

Come on dees we are going ok just need to tweak a few things.

LOL throwing away a handy lead with little to no resistance.   Same old Demons.

We had our moments but the umps got very involved that quarter P2J.

Spargo gets that very obvious high tackle in front we were up by 25 or so for a game high lead.

It then goes down the other end and who gets a high tackle inside 50 lol.  Then de Boers staging.  Free kick to Lever not paid results in a goal.

GWS's first two goals from free kicks also.

They had a shot of him on the big screen at the mini G and he had that WTF is going on look ?

I agree he looks dumb when the flash to him but I think it always looks like that. My issue is the no plan B. I hate it how we never make a move

Couple of shocking turnovers but at least they are trying to play with dare, The game has been even pretty much even throughout so levels scores at the half about right. Need to get back on top at the stoppage and if Viney could please just take first option.

How many years has Viney been at the club and no coach has got hold of him and absolutely bashed him until he ldeveloped a right side. Should have been told “ you dont kick on your left until further notice, if ya do its 40 pushups and 50 laps”

How many set shots has he missed this year?

And at critical times.

Viney looks great tbh, at least he is giving a [censored]

He is SO DAMN CLOSE to ripping a game apart.

He just needs to kick those goals and he'll be right.

I thought so. He needs to have the confidence to kick a basic set shot from 45 in front.

Conversely, Hunt seems to know where they are these days. I'd back him to snap a goal anywhere inside 50. Strange.

How is this club ever going to have a future if most of the team can't hit simple targets?

It's just embarrassing to watch at times.

As much as I can't stand Goodwin, we hit those targets we keep our lead.

^This.

We started getting smashed in centre clearances which has become a very familiar theme. And failed to take our chances.

I don’t think the umpiring has been as influential as others. A couple of absolute howlers our way as well.

How does Melksham get a game. Cost us 2 goals as a forward!

11 to 8. Not enough of a disparity for them to change their ways. Might need to get a vuvuzela In to the gabba to let them know how bad their decisions are.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
