Tbh, even though we're up, it just doesn't look like the way we play.

Straight kicking & brilliance from Tracc in Qtr1 was all it was.

Could get ugly this. Let's see.

6-1 in centre clearances St Kildas way. Our midfielder coach is pathetic, can’t remember the last time we won the game from the midfield.

I don’t know. Why does this happen every week? Because it’s a rinse and repeat pattern. Are our players really too stupid to follow instructions? Are they deaf? Poorly coached? Blind? Dehydrated? Drunk? I mean really I’m an unfit 34 year old who has never played footy in her life and I can see it. Why can’t they? Whoever they are?

I think it is called coaching. No tactical smarts, you know there is a time and place to attack and a time late in a quarter to be defensive but we don’t have a clue.

This match us there for the taking.  It simply comes down to who wants it the most.

This will tell the tale and whether the boys really are playing to win and force their way into the eight.

If we lose i'm afraid this club will need to take a serious look at things within the FD.

How the [censored] is a dumb kick by an experienced player and concentration lapse from the mids a second later Goodwin fault!!!

ffs the anti-coach cult on this site [censored] me.

Honestly turnovers happen to every team. Even the best teams. They are annoying but it’s a game played by humans who make mistakes.
I can forgive that but what I can’t forgive is the same horrible midfield set up that allows opposition to stream forward easily for goals every week.

The way this is going it'll be season hopes gone.

I'm expecting a different ,stronger melbourne comes out after half time.

But no money on it

I won't argue that Jones should retire gracefully at the end of the year, but I don't think he's been THAT bad (outside of that absolute shocker of a turnover).

Sorry Wise, he's been poor.

Harmes, surely, can do better in that spot on the ground.

Lets not panic yet. Yes we squandered a good lead but we are still in yhis. One big 3rd quarter is all we need.

Up until the horrible turnover, Jones had actually been playing quite well.  Wagner hasn't been too bad either.

I'll give you Vanders, though.  I'm a fan but he's done nothing tonight other than setting up our third goal of the night.

Sorry Wise I’m not stalking with all the reply’s but Vanders has been average, at best all season.

Make that 7-1

There were plenty of positives with Weed, Brown, Melksham, Spargo, Petracca as well as May and Lever. Let down by midfield and stupid mistakes. Gonna taken big effort from here.

lol wow

Idiotic Melbourne supporters actually seriously suggested that

I think it was ironic, actually.

Tag jack steele!

Goody wouldn’t know the term. And Harmes ain’t playing

Clarry going for his world record of costly turnovers

Goodwin is too stubborn to tag.

Omg [censored] me clarry...?‍♂️?‍♂️

Worst game ever in his career.

Oliver has been trash fire in this game. Worst game I've seen him play.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
