Except his goal kicking, Weideman has been brilliant.

North drop the ball in the middle. No free.

I really enjoyed the no call on Goldstein pushing off with an arm on Jackson.

Umpires are an inconsistent joke

Weid is playing amazingly good footy

Finally a star full forward.

Cluncked 3 marks?

2Goals 2?

Score assist x 3?

Weid has arrived.. too bad he isnt kicking straight, he would be on his way to a massive bag and this game would be over.

Bury them in the 2nd half

Great stuff Weideman, massive psychological boost going in to the half.

What an utterly pathetic and disgraceful quarter. Our skills and decision making is laughable.

I'd agree our skills haven't been great, but I think our decision making on the whole hasn't been too bad.  We are well behind in disposals, but our pressure and transition work has actually been pretty good, which has allowed us to keep the ball locked in, but to also defend well too.  Poor kicking for goal hurts - if we don't miss a few of those cheapies we might be 4-5 goals up.

Weid and Petracca are killing them. Umpiring still shocking though.

Weideman redeeming himself slightly.

His marking has been great today. Kicking less so. He should have 5 goals.

Never been happier to be wrong about goal into half time behind. He should have 4 on the board already and we should be 3-4 goals in front. Completely dominated them that quarter.

Weideman playing like Wayne Carey.

This is some performance by him.

Weideman has to work with a sport psych. The goal kicking is all confidence. He is a beautiful kick and has excellent technique. But if he misses one or two gettable ones he just can’t get over it.

Yep been impressed with spargo as well, seems a set quicker and stronger at the contest.

THANK YOU SAM.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
