Did we have a winner anywhere on the ground? Can’t think of one. You could argue Gawn won the hit outs but to who? This is a season where all sides have been  Jekyll and Hyde like in their performances, maybe this was our shocker. We could wear that if we had won the close ones against Brisbane and Geelong but we didn’t and now we look like dropping off the pace. Midfield went missing in action tonight.

From quarter time I decided to individually remove my pubic  hair with tweezers. Surprisingly the end result of the game didn’t impact me as much as I expected.

The ball was coming in that quick they had no chance.

Front and square  everytime every contest we were out numbered at the marking contest, as soon as the ball hit the ground it was a massive out number  that is work rate this outside our lack of skill is a massive issue

We only have a few that are prepared to work hard

Even Sam Mayes looked good out there. How soft are we?

When the pressure's on revert to type:

- don't think, fall over

- bomb it to port players or noone

- all go for the same mark

- forget the gameplan

 - let the structure fall to bits

- look for frees

- get sucked in by a second gamer into thinking you can forget them and spectate

- confuse tackling with falling on players

- dispose of ball in random directions

- fumble

 

 

Previously we've found reasons for losses. Can't execute skills, wrong set up. First time for a very long time where I really don't think they (as a group) played for the club. Now that's got to be on the coach. Probably a 'ripper bloke' but it was there for all to see tonight.

 

 

Georgiades being interviewed now. Talking about how it’s easy when you get a free jump at it. How sad that a kid in his third game can play with such little pressure on him from the opposition.

I thought May and Lever won their positions tonight.  Dixon couldn't get near it, and May showed why we recruited him.  When you consider the ease with which the ball went in there tonight, they fought on admirably.  You could possibly throw Lockhart in there too.

I wouldn’t be blaming Sparrow, the engine room of Gawn, Oliver, Viney, Petracca, and Harmes were next to useless as a group.

Just hard to watch. Numbing stuff, that. There are a lot of players who looked way out of their depth. 

Hannan back to his 2 games on, 4 games unsighted formline.

Jackson and Weid both struggled to get near it. At least Weid kicked a couple I guess.

Brayshaw and Harmes are a mile off their 2018 selves and on form, neither deserve to be in the side. Both being played out of position and both killing us with their disposal.

TMac and Jones are both washed up.

Kossie buzzes around and I think will be a player but lacks discipline both with and without the ball.

But not sure who I’d be excited to bring back in either... Bennell and Tomlinson are at least up to the level. Vandenberg, ANB, Spargo etc are all seriously flawed players too. At least Vanders would give us intensity though.

Selection this week will be a lottery.

Pleased to have a Friday to recover so that crap doesn’t ruin my weekend.

Hannan had no influence again.  Jones looks absolutely cooked.  By playing a few of these guys our team is totally out of whack.  He is happy to cut someone like Tomlinson, who was no worse than those mentioned above, but he sticks by others who are in the same boat or worse.  Why?  What does he have to gain from it?  It sends a horrible message.

Example three - the gameplan.  Now, our players can take some responsibility here.  Their skills and decision making under pressure can be catastrophic.  But good sides work us out and we have no comeback for it.  For not the first time in Goodwin's time as coach, we went goalless in a quarter while having an absolute bucket load of inside 50s.  We had heaps and didn't look like scoring from one.  We kick to the wrong places, our forwards don't lead enough and we don't get enough numbers around the ball to keep it in there.  He might have changed the personnel a little, but the game plan remains the same.  It looks poor and we are our own worst enemy.

I'm hurting, like you all are, tonight.  I'm not going to call for Goodwin to be sacked, or to fling [censored] everywhere, but tonight was one of the worst performances we have put in for a long time.  Some might say the four day break hurt, but Port had one extra day plus travel and they had to deal with injuries.  We had to do neither.

I'm really worried right now about the direction of the club under Goodwin, and for the first time under his coaching, I'm not sure he can get us out of it.

Well done MFC, my third child has now walked out on the Dees. And I don't blame them. Utter  crap football club.

When this club folds it will fall at the feet of Simon Goodwin and this pathetic Administration that have let a generation of kids switch clubs from the Dees. There will be no future supporters.

Hopeless, spineless embarrassing, insipid, putrid and gutless.

In a long series of bad depressing awful and downright infuriating days this year, today takes the cake. Only like 5% can be attributed to the disgusting display of our club, but that 5% just pushed me over the edge.

Our field kicking & skill level was deplorable & has been all year! Oliver can’t kick along with majority of all our midfielders! Not sure what our recruiters were looking for but our kicking skill level is pathetic & no we’re near afl standard! 

First really poor performance this year. I can excuse the West Coast game given the circumstances but that was a spiritless effort. Almost looked as though they were going through the motions with an eye on the congested fixture. 

The team selection was baffling. You cannot play Weideman, Jackson, Tom McDonald (and  Fritsch, Hannan and Melksham who play tall) in the same side. Way too top heavy. Just ridiculous. They looked and played slow. There was no pressure when the ball hit the ground. I concede two talls + Fritsch, Hannan + Melksham is workable (just) - so make a decision. Either play Tom McDonald or Jackson - not both. The lack of speed of the outside mids was also telling. Jones can't break clear to set up play and neither can Brayshaw. Sparrow for all of his endeavour (which was great) is slow too.

There needs to be an urgent recalibration - Adelaide would be licking their lips watching that. Really disappointed.

Good.  He is probably saying everything we wish we could be saying if a microphone got shoved in front of our face right now.

Garry annoys me sometimes, but he still loves the club, and that would have hurt to watch.
