It's an intriguing closely matched see-saw arm wrestle of a tussle.

Sydney won the second quarter by a goal, Richmond won the third quarter by a goal, and now Sydney are winning the final quarter by a goal!

I think we should be impressed by the Tiger's discipline to not put the cue in the rack after been a full twelve point in front at quarter time.

If you run out of Frank Zappa, my wife is currently watching a Korean celebrity/reality TV show where they compete to invent new dishes for kids - the winning recipe idea gets an official launch with proceeds going to charity.

Each episode of 'Funstaurant' is about 40 minutes, I think, so you can catch a goal in the game, watch the show, and be back in time for the next goal.

Was a trash game, and in such a low scoring game hard to believe the free kick for Richmond's first goal. Would be spewing.

swans' kennedy with a medial and heeney's foot / ankle didn't look good either

you'd expect we'll play swans in the next three matches, and hawthorn too, with patton gone with a hammy

We play hawks next Sunday in our traditional 3.35 time slot.

I watched the second half which was like watch grass grow. It was wet in last quarter but 1 goal each in the second half  is a terrible indictment on the AFLs management of the game.

Commentators have referred to the Dogs/Blues as a 'goal fest' twice now.

10 goals to 7 in the 4th Q

Blues and Suns have improved so much this season.  We beat them both.

Should have rolled the Cats.

Things arent as bad as they seem, but I reserve the right to meltdown if we lose to Hawthorn.

We know Clarkson is going to go to work on the maintaining possession/keeping off game. Let's hope we have learnt from the Geelong and West Coast games

bluebaggers mauled footscray

the latter have gone from premiers just four years ago to a more inconsistent side than us

when they're good they're very good; when they're bad they're horrid

Would prefer Paton played, a shadow of his younger self and hes the perfect matchup for O Mac.

Ironic that Hardwick is blaming the swans for their own low score and 'farcical footy'.  Claims Swans had a spare in defence all game and they couldn't score.

Well their scores this side of the covid break have been:  36, 39, 67, 79, 34.  Not exactly flash.  Maybe the problem is closer to home.

He had the option to man up the spare defender but chose not to.  Coaching??

I think Hardwick's lack of coaching prowess is returning and they miss Rutton and Caracella who were the cornerstones of changing their 2016 fiasco to their 2017 flag.

It is no coincidence that they are both at Essendon who seem to be on a roll.

They are an aging team without the talent coming through.  Methinks we may have seen the end of the Richmond Era.  Quite happy if that comes to pass.

Hardwit was putting an extra at the contest, and the swans didn’t match it.  Longmire says the only played 6 Back all night.  Think you may be on to something....

Last year I said the Blues would win a flag before us and was roundly criticised.

I will stick with my prediction!

Bulldogs are playing an attacking game which leaves space for the other team. Blues won the "Space" race yesterday because they had less fumbles.

The Bulldogs could suit our gameplan.

You weren't by me, I think they are tracking nicely and have voiced my opinion on this for a few years. Really good spine put together

Apparently Hardwick contacted Longmire straight after the rant to apologize.  That didn't go down too well either...the genie was out of the bottle.   unnecessary-and-unwarranted-horse-hits-back-at-dimma-comments

Poor form for Hardwick to blame Longmire for their crappy game when it was in his own control to change it.

Interesting. It was the worst game i have seen in years.
similiar to a Ross Lyon Saints game against Footscray, and a Terry Wallace Richmond v Adelaide game.
Regardless of what the Coaches say, play that style and the game is dead

I'm just waiting for the Essendon  - AFL lovefest to continue with Shiel either getting off or downgraded to 1 match. Add that to a soft draw that belies where they finished last year. Is it me or does Essendon get looked after more than just about any other club? (keep in mind that I have an unnatural hatred of them stemming from the 2000 GF)

Sorry RtG but it is entirely natural to hate Essendon for that. In fact there are many reasons to hate them and they are without question my most hated club. On reflection they are the only club that I currently hate. (Special mention to Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong & Hawthorn and no fan of Adelaide or WCE either)

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
