Let me first say I don't want him to leave but where is the proof he has signed?

If he had re signed surely the club would be crowing about it.

No proof, OD, just reading the tea leaves.

Sorry binman, I don't remember the specific post.  If you could quote it I'd be happy to respond.

Wasn't having a shot or anything. Apologies if it came across a bit combative.

On the back of what i thought was a number of strange selections (not dropping melk being one) wondering by goody I was wondering if his focus on relationships clouded his judgement sometimes. And iirc you said that was unlikely

I must have been off with the fairies!  I do think his relationships can cloud his judgement.  Some selection decisions are otherwise inexplicable.

Probably as good as any other method AF.

maybe it wasnt you?

I wonder hiw he will go balancing being  ruthless and building relationships?

The young bloke just told me that JV has removed all reference to the MFC off his Insta bio...is that serious??

A difficult trip that few have mastered binman.

His display picture is him in a Melbourne jumper and his most recent photo is him and Petracca.

So, no.

If he is off it will make one the awards he won tonight look rather silly.

Ruthless with those he doesn't value, perhaps...

@dazzledavey36 mentioned earlier that he removed references at the start of the year.

Are you sure?

Picture 4 of 16 in the 'gallery pics' from the Blue.  The old adage:  "if looks could kill..." comes to mind.

I can't seem to reproduce that one pic but Jack looks very desolate.

I hope he gets bloody ruthless with melksham. Played every game of the season. Probably in our top 5 paid players. Or close. A senior player. And comes 13th in the bluey.

Without wanting to diminish his cooments, I wonder if the shout out by viney to the players who were on the fringe were influenced at all by Ayers not deserving if a spot being selected?

I know in that photo he stands out whilst everyone else is smiling, but I think it's very dangerous to read into photos like that. Who knows what was going through his mind or of the context.

No smiling issues in his photo with his trophy or with the top 5.

Body language of Viney from the B&F suggests to me that his heart’s not with the club.

Agreed!  13th.  He should be embarrassed.

A better season from him may have got us well into the finals.

It was left to Sam and a few small fwds to carry the fwd line for the season.

It wasn't the lack of a smile the 'adage' was referring to...

Felt emo, may delete later.

But seriously way to pick a narrative.

In fairness they all looked that way.

I would say they are exhausted and probably had a couple of days on the turps

I will be [censored] gutted if Viney leaves. How do we turn away people who bleed red and blue?

Viney wasn't a problem in our final series 2 years ago, but now he is a problem because Goodwin is playing Brayshaw on a wing.

It's all Jacks fault to this mob in here.

We should never be in the business of trading our best players.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
