And let's not forget Dangerfield got BOG the following week. So much for serious concussion

Should get multiple weeks for that. But of course if the player gets up and plays on the AFL won’t punish.

as the commentator said "there wouldn't be any malice in that from burgoyne, he thought he still had the ball"

there are always protected species, clubs

it was exactly the tackle the law was brought in to stop

if there is any consistency (joke) he has to be suspended

Still can't believe Jack got suspended for that.

100% perfect tackle. Should have had a free his way for dropping the ball

It was a reckless, dangerous tackle that was completely unnecessary. The AFL is weak if he gets anything less than a couple of weeks. And how ridiculous that the penalty depends on the outcome. Whether or not Burgoyne thought Dangerfield had the ball is irrelevant - there’s a duty of care.

well that sets the tone for dangerous tackles for the rest of the season

How on earth did he only get a fine unbelievable

Is that a serious question?

What colours does he wear?

There shouldn't be a rule tweak here, the players know what they are not allowed to do. The AFL should be retrospectively be appealing and he should get one week. Honestly such a joke and every player that gets done for it now (what's the bet Viney will next week) should feel rightly p****d off that Burgoyne got away with a suspension.

What’s the phrase the AFL has used for the last ~5 years? Essentially about personally accountability of the player to not looking to hurt the other player.

Ffs because it is PB he gets a free ride, Viney cops the punishment.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
