I dont like the shortened game.

With the fake crowd noise why was there a train bleating its siren during second quarter.

As much as it pains me, Frost has been good. Frawley very good in first qtr.

Yes I have noticed that. It may not last but so far he has taken a clutch mark and run thru the lines and passed off to nearby player which is what he was doing with us but we don’t need that. But is that partly because we spent so many first round tickets on May and Lever? And then we have issues with turning Smith into a back and let’s face it Weideman should be developed into a kPB if we want to keep him.

Was thinking Tyrion Lannister.

Frost has done a couple of good things but gave away 2 goals so overall I’d say an average game

This game is the first one I've enjoyed this season...

There have been the skill errors you would expect with the lack of prep but they are prepared to play footy.

Last night was an abomination.

Agree. Rich-Coll was a dead end. Dullest game in a long time. This is much better, especially because the poos and wees are going down...down...down. Cop that Jeff!

love jab watson commentating about how to play down at kardinia park...he......never..........played............there.................

He may have coached there.?

Even before Jeff raised his diseased perineum into the wind again this week, there were few non-MFC things in football I enjoyed more than Hawthorn losing by ten goals plus.

I wonder how long Burgoyne is going to get for the sling tackle.

Pity he will probably go for that, but Selwood and Ablett will get away with staging......

So safe to say we can put a line through Hawthorn.

Midfield too small and too slow.

The master coach went in with a tall defence and got cut up by their medium/small forwards.

McEvoy isn't a CHB...

On the good bloke, champion of the game, ball player, didn't know he got rid of the ball rule he will get $1,500.

If it was Harmes or another of ours , he would get at least a week. Probably 2.

The staging is pathetic, I didn’t see Selwood’s tonight but Dangerfield’s deserves a week. Toss.

Selwood antagonised an opponent on the boundary line with an arm around the neck after he had been beaten. He then collapsed like he was shot when given a light jumper tap in retaliation. Not the first time I have seen this from him.

Rubbish game full of staging, 14mtr passes allowed, holding ball not paid, and revenge free kicks against Burgoine. Like always Cats get away with murder for deliberate out of bounds calls and anything else they can appeal for to disrupt the opposition and then back into the game. It is so predictable and pathetic of drop kick Umpire who cannot bounce or apparently stop players from pirouetting with the ball.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
