No. We’re highly likely to lose with this useless coach and game plan and an improved Carlton side. If we continue to bomb it in long to the forwards and then fail to run back to man up on the opposition forwards we’re highly likely to have the same result as most games last year and the first game this year. It’s pretty obvious.

I can see why you chose your screen name... are you talking about the coach who got us to a preliminary final in his first full season?  Sure they failed miserably last year, but I'd be holding off on the crucifixion a little longer; and the first game of this year was lost in the first quarter after which they adjusted but were not good enough to overhaul what they had already given away.

And have you noticed that the new "improved" Carlton have a rather extensive injury list that includes two of their main forward targets, while we are pretty much at full strength (something we were nowhere near in the first round).

Slight detour. Anyone seen the new training jumper from today’s session? Looks good on Jonesy from the pics on the club’s social pages.

No front view though.E87690BB-ABB3-414F-B197-E80753F8E9F3.thumb.jpeg.e98ab28806173c53f220e5e98f949d28.jpeg

We have an away training guernsey now?

Let’s see who wins before we count our fowls. They’ve got a lot of other new and improved players.

Exactly!!  Which is why I called you out on this: "We’re highly likely to lose with this useless coach and game plan and an improved Carlton side." ?

No it is at Marvel Stadium.

Herald sun saying MCG so they've obviously stuffed that up.

the surface should be at its best and the game will be unaffected by wind and rain.

A perfect opportunity to see if we have come to win this season.

60 point win would be nice.

Classic. That Demon Card used to be in the Twistie Packets back in ‘69, all yellow and cheese powder  but that’s him!!!

As long as that's not white powder without the cheesy flavour SWYL!  Prefer my twisties straight out of  a freshly opened pack, wholesome and crunchy ?

I stand by my opinion. We’re likely to lose. However will be happy if we suddenly change our game plan and ability to hit targets in the forward fifty and to run back and man up in defence and WIN!

Bit confusing as Auld in his presser mentioned Carl V Melb at MCG also.

Such an exciting time... if we lose however I'll be wishing for a second wave of corona infections, so we all go into lockdown and they shut down the season again.

Absolutely 0 excuses to lose this one. They have key injuries, we appear to have almost a full list to pick from. If we are serious about making amends for the disaster that was 2019, we absolutely cannot lose to Carlton.

Anyone know what's happening with TV coverage?  I don't have Foxtel or Kayo and in the original fixture I was either going to the game or could see in on FTA for all but one game.  Is this game going to be FTA?  Under normal circumstances I think it wouldn't be but I would go to the game.  I'll be [censored] off if I have to pay a subscription to see it.

this game is not fta but rounds 3 4 5 are ch 7

Agree with most of what you are saying above here, but I my recollection is that we were pretty close to full strength first round.  Yes Jones was an important absence and were we also missing Salem?  But apart from that, I thought we were as close to full strength as most teams ever really get in practice.

Well, I was also taking into consideration Hannan, Petty and Preuss - two of whom, along with Jones and Salem, could probably have helped make a difference, and who could make a difference going into round 2, depending on general "match fitness" (although I'm not sure that's going to count for anyone in the entire comp considering the isolation).

Not disagreeing, and yes we were close to full strength, but given how poor our I50's were in that match, we really missed these two.

Maybe we could ask Carlton to wear their M and M jumper to avoid confusion with our away training jumper, sheesh what ever happened to white shorts and black shorts

Back up Ruck, De Koning injured today, will miss round 2.

Kruezer injured as usual

Gawny licking his lips (and clarry)

Pittonet the only other ruck on their senior list from what I can tell
