I hope they are found OK.  This is a terrible situation, regardless of who they are, or the ‘advice’ they ignored.

That's a really bad place to be in the water.  Lots of Great White Sharks hanging around near Seal Rocks.

There is no way they would have motored across to shark alley on the island, in a 10 foot Ally' boat.

They must have gone fishing for squid and whiting,  between Flinders and Shoreham.

I don't like their chances,  if they've been carried out into Bass Straight.  Its been treacherously cold over the weekend.

I fear the outcome is not going to be good for poor Hibbo. Through all the cr@p of a suspended season, he’s now very likely going to have to deal with the loss of his brother.

Tragic news for both families. Considering conditions on Sunday, the size of the vessel and where it was found I’m not optimistic.

Yep I can't imagine why they would have gone out in that weather given the size of the wind gusts and the swell.

Heartbreaking.

Lets hope the Hibberd and deSliva families can have people nearby to support them at this horrible time.

Their boat transformed into a submarine? Inviting speculation on this incident is just tactless.

I understand where 'Fence'  is coming from.

The report said that both mens wallets were found inside DeSilva's tow car.  And the doors were unlocked.

Have they actually found the lads?

Have to feel for Michael, his family and his friends, as well as the other person loved ones.

2 spots left in the 8 imo pies and gws, if we loose tomorrow pies go 10 points clear of us and effectively tie a spot up. Not too worried about the ins and outs but I would say on balance I’d rather be in our position than theres list wise right now. If we are real contender just to make the 8 a win tomorrow is a must.

Hibberd’s been outstanding this year considering the pain and suffering he’s gone through.

His pace and kicking from D50 has been as good as it’s been since he’s been with the DEES.

The true definition of a bounce back year.

Well down Hibbo.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
