Brown Weideman and Jackson named in the interchange....interesting.

Spargo named in the team..what do you know....Old Dee will be happy !!

Will be a miracle if we win this one

Change Melk and Viney on the team sheet.  Bench of Bedford, Pickett, Lockhart and Sparrow.

My tip for the final 4

weid, Lockhart, kozie and Bedford.

Jackson wasn't announced as a debutante so he probably won't play and be an emergency.

Every chance the club has thoughtfully included him in the squad so he can get home and see his family and friends.

Cancelled out if Weed makes the final cut. It's a zero sum game.

From the other side of a plastic bubble or a distance of about 20m!!

Why is ANB playing ?

Kozzie and bedford are debutantes so they will probably play so my other 2 would be Sparrow and the weed or lockhart.

I assume one of Hore and Lockhart will play as the seventh dewfender, depending on whether we need a mid-sized or small defender. With Bedford and pickett already announced, that would seem to leave  a fight between Weideman, Brown and Jackson for the final tall foward spot, probably in that order, subject to Weideman's ankle being OK. That would leave Brown, Jackson, Sparrow and either Hore or Lockhart as the real emergencies.

No Jones (first time since when??)

No Salem

Worried about Salem.

We certainly need another tall to give Big Max a chop out.

Just think out loud here, but I think the AFL has mad a monumental stuff up in cutting short quarters.

Given that from my understanding there are no second tier comps like the VLF for AFL listed players at the moment, they should have introduced X 3 subitutes instead of cutting game time.  That way it would still provide a means of managing match minutes, but also provide more of an oppertunity for match practice and fitness for the players just outside the best 22.

Unfortunately I think it's a bit ominous that AVB isn't on the extended bench.  He would have been one of my first picked against the Eagles if he was fit.

Broken foot,  3 months.  Announced this morning.

Did you miss the big article where it said he's out for three months?

Anything on Jones? Or is it a case of him being older and spared the flight? He was showing plenty in the preseason in a new role

Has an Achilles injury according to the MFC website.

Well that’s him out for a moth or more. That hurts us. More than people realise. Probably not so much against West Coast. In the next few games though

Where did you read he was out for month?

As of yesterday he was listed as 'test' so I'd imagine he will be in line for next week.

He didn't.  He's guessing.

@Jaded - Goodwin mentioned that Salem will be right for next week, he just didn't do enough at training to get up for this one.  Doesn't seem to be one to worry about.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
