That is funny. First laugh from me all day, in this serious situation we are all in. Well done.

Nathan Buckley when leaving Brisbane Bears "I'm going to Collingwood because I want to win a flag"

Howe was given every chance when at MFC. He was and still is  a selfish player who would rather play where he wants to rather than be a fully fledged input at a Club....  I have no time for him or his sadistic comments.

And so was Dunn in his 1st half of his career.  He wanted to only play forward.   He thought he was too good for defence,  and was insulted with that role.  But he was a head ducker.

When he settled into defence, he was a better player.

As was Howe, but still soso.

Now ask him about players who take screamers then kick it straight to the opposition.

Jeremy Howe when leaving Melbourne to go to Collingwood. " Nathan has a defined role for me in the Collingwood forward line.

Ha Ha

I found it quite amusing to be honest & let's face it, good bloke or not....he's right. We shouldn't have got rid of him in the first place & as TGR said, he's an AA when in good form.

One of the best aeralists the games ever seen, reads the play exceptionally well & a very good kick. Collingwood have shown more faith in him than we did......

Plenty of players want to leave clubs......Papley, Daniher more recently.

Their clubs chose to not allow them to leave. Obviously MFC didnt rate Howe & that's ok I guess but he has had the last laugh.

Daniher was still under contract at Essendon, Papley is still with the Swans

Water off a ducks back. Until we play them what he says or does is irrelevant.

Based on no evidence at all.

Bit of a joke actually. But i hope the comment is put up in the players rooms as a little reminder

Winning is always the key to these digs

When at Melbourne it was always "always about Jeremy" It was just that he happened to be the one who could skip around and get easy marks/ kicks. All of a sudden he didn't like it when he was asked to present....back at the pies he is not asked to put in just yet but he will be. Probably the easiest of easy "skirting around" players we have had. The reason why i know, because i was asked to present too, and i couldn't.....i remember though.......

Howe is a decent player. But as a lifelong Pie Supporter he always wanted to end up next door

A shame we didn’t get more for him

I sure hope we beat The Filth in September. His mates will remind him for a long time

What, other than watching him weekly,  with high hopes for him.

One of his first games was against the Cats,  as I recall,  in a night game.  Maybe a Friday night game?

He was played at CHF, didn't like close attention when going for his overhead marks.   Nothing much changed for sometime,  and the club searched for his rightful position.  Eventually as a defender.   He didn't like that at first.

Isn't the point of being AA that you do it for more than a few weeks? Howe hasn't done that, or else he would have been an AA by now.

Howe is a amazing intercept mark. That's all. Not enough to be AA

So you have based that on what you see on tv.. right..

So in your initial comment you said "he wanted to play forward, he thought he was too good for defence" so he never directly said that to you did he, or any quotes that he stated . Again, how do you he didn't like that at first?

You're just making yourself look silly here by making stuff up.

Based it on watching him live in his early career;  seeing him duck his head and drop marks.  For the first few years, unit l got sick of him trying to make it.

The debate was on for some time, Re where he should play,  back or forward.   This is why he became a defender.   It's the position he could handle.

Meantime the club was wasting time going in circles.

Could have sworn he plays for Port.

Wow.. ok.

So next time I see Lever or Gawn drop marks or duck their heads i will know for a fact they absolutely hate playing in their currents positions. Got it.

Yeah he does, but according to @MyFavouriteMartian Dunn was traded by Roos because he was part of this week culture that we had lingering. If that was the case, then why didn't Roos do the same for Watts? Only took Goodwin 1 year to realise Watts should have been traded years before that. Roos got rid of Dunn to make way for none other then Oscar McDonald. That was a poor decision.

No respect for him either on these cyber boards.  I recall many here thinking he was absolutely dispensable.  Jeremy Howe is a bone-fide All Australian key back.  They don't grow on trees.

We give it, but can't take it at all.  Quick to highlight a negative prediction from a journo, but won't apologise when the journo is inevitably correct.

I wonder if Demonland will give Jeremy a warning point for inciting negativity and rage.

Com on mods we got kick this non demon support off demonland, use ever post to put sh@t real demons

Edited by don't make me angry

Why worry what an opponent says. He takes a good grab that’s about it, not sure he helped us win any matches directly.
unlike say JW who kicked that goal against the pies, encouraged by jones , a really great goal.
JH never really invested in the MFC,

I expect to have a much better year Go Dees 2020

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
