I was hoping to get over to Perth for Rd 1 with my lad, but now can’t. Does anyone know if there’s an ‘official’ venue in Melbourne to watch the game? Does the Bentleigh Club or the Sporting Globe(?) still put Dees away games on? Thanks guys.

The Rose in Napier St, Fitzroy is pretty good. The food and beer choices aren't bad and it's not overrun with nuffies on game days.

Is that the Fitzroy pub with footy memorabilia all over the walls, was there a few years ago and always meant to head back

Still has some but it was changed hands a few times over the last 10 years. it is all clean lines and brighter spaces/less clutter now but still a great pub.

Hi Pennant St. Quite possibly although if it was a few years ago there may have been others

If you were there on a game day and they played the song afterwards then it definitely was. The fact we were 37 second from hearing the Gold Coast song last year still makes me shudder.

Yeah. A little more refined these days but still a good venue when we play interstate. I heard that the guy who own the place is a Crows fan but there’s usually a good turnout of Dees when we play. There’s a good chance I’ll be booking a table for the WC game.

Ethically sourced, macrobiotic and artisanal food served by men with long, well groomed beards  ,no doubt , if you frequent this establishment.

The Bentleigh Club has been a disgrace in recent years. It feels as though you are imposing on them to find you a TV and a few chairs, and half the staff can't work out how to turn the volume up or get a decent picture. Last time I went (GC last year) we were sardined in a tiny room. It is not surprising that barely anyone goes there any more.

Nup.  Good ole fashioned pub grub.  The bar featured in the ABC series Jack Irish was modelled on the Napier bar.  It is like stepping back in time and I and a group of mates eat there once a month on a Friday.  Good craic as well.

I have tried to support this joint over the years by organising a group. Dont bother mate they have zero interest.

I boycotted the Napier many years ago.

Lived in the area and it was one of my (nany) haunts. At one point they banned footy jumpers.

Around that time a group of mates and I rocked up after a final win (night game) and we were pretty boisterous, but no problems. We were in the back bar playing pool, singing the dees song and generally having a whale of a time.

A bar staff came and warned us patrons in the front bar were complaining about the noise and told us to be quiet or leave. We left.

Imagine that a front bar in old worrying about good natured post footy hub bub. Have not been back since.

I was a regular at the rose when Dave owned it. Huge tigets fan. There were regular lock ins. Matty Richardson worked tbere for a while as a young fella. Nice bloke. Rubbish barman.

It would be unfamiliar to you. They don't serve people with punctuation skill issues.

I'd never go to any pub ever again if I held a grudge like that, Trashy!

Several years ago, I had the same, repetitive service ethic thrown in my face and those of my guests; other patrons were experiencing the same thing at the BC so after the third week of disappointment,  dissociation was the only way to respond. Never been back since and sincerely, never missed the experience. Sporting Globe in Richmond - excellent, friendly, service-oriented, committed Demons and laid-back for a few colds with the footy.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Looks like we will head to the Sporting Globe - hopefully will see some of you there.

Time to try Kayo my friend

That's what I suspected, the laptop might have to swing into action as my tv won't pick it up.

You can buy an android or apple TV box for a couple of hundred dollars. Using the inbuilt apps on the TV's is not that great as they are often the last to be updated. The boxes however such as nvidia shield are constantly udpated.

They are so easy to use and are the ultimate definition of plug and play

DJ the problem is I have already used up all the HDMI sockets on the set. Used to have a Chromecast on our old Tele but even it is too old according to Kayo. I have investigated previously using the apps on my Panasonic  tv and according to Kayo it is not available through this set. No big deal mate life will go on if I don't get to see the game so be it. I have thought of having  Kayo In recent times because there are so many sports that are not available via FTA that I like eg. Motor racing.

Of course there is always that old technology called radio.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
