Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

China has been hammered and looks like it's set for a 2nd wave unfortunately.

Russia has also been hammered.

North Korea have been seeking assistance through back channels apparently and would never admit to anything so who would know really.

I wouldn't use these examples to back your argument...

'ht',  what is it you think I'm debating, 'For'.?

That's why I edited to say,  plus Nth Korea.  They do have a 1st world military Uncle.

I'm on the lookout for the signs of major conflict starting, at these times of troubles.

No they don’t. They have a BIG military and because of 60 plus years of preparing for war they have enough artillery hidden in tunnels so they could flatten Seoul in about an hour, but that is about it other than suicide pact nukes. I doubt they could control their airspace against South Korea, and forget what would happen if one of the big 3 got involved. The exist because it suits China to have them there, and since they got nukes the US has backed off because they suspect that the leadership is bat**** crazy enough to us them if pushed.

As for China and her numbers (as dodgy as all hell), I suspect they have lost control over it and have decided that it’s better to lose a couple of million people than trash the economy. It’s not like it would be the first time that the CCP has made that call.

Nth Korea closed their borders early on.  February.

I think Nth Korea is either the Kremmlin's,  or Xi Jinping's puppet.  I think Xi.   I think, they're working hand in hand, behind the scenes.

And with what's been going on since 2000, I don't trust either of them.

Just look at the Hong Kong protests, etc.  Taiwan.

China tries to gather control of things via stealth.  The same around the Sth Pacific.

For sure they do. They have had 5000 years of practice. But I never look for a conspiracy when it can be chalked up to ineptitude. But like hell China would bring the hermit kingdom into the fold. They aren’t friends. They are just a useful buffer. And China is well aware the NK is bat**** crazy, but as long as that crazy it aimed westward it’s bareable. If it turns east it will be squashed like a bug

Given the current situation with borders between our states, police action against people taking driving lessons or eating kebabs on benches, etc, State premiers thanking those adhering to direction but exhorting citizens to follow these rules and a PMwho just states "stop it just stop it" to acknowledge people not acting in accordance with his desires, we are heading close to a similar charge.

Footy,  Coronavirus,  and Cruise ships.

China and the  'Ruby Princees',  have a lot to answer for.   Those two  Coronavirus impacts on Australia,  nothing has had a bigger destructive influence on our lives and finances.

from miragenews.com.  September 18, 2019.

https://www.miragenews.com/ship-debuts-and-maiden-calls-make-2019-20-a-summer-to-remember-for-carnival-australia/

"  Carnival Australia President Sture Myrmell said the 2019-20 cruise season would feature an exciting range of ships as well as 50 inaugural port visits around the country for ships across the company’s cruise lines.

“This is going to be a summer cruise season to remember,,,,  "

IMO,  the Australian government should seize the  'Ruby Princess' ship,  as evidence, Re the police investigations,  & for collateral,  for any law suits here in Australia against the 'Carnival' company, which owns the ship.

I think there is going to be multi Law suits,  against this company.  So we don't want them seeking legal solace in some way,  restricting them from paying their future Legal debts.

Good luck with that!  Considering that we are unlikely to open our borders before year's end, coupled with the fact that India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England etc are likely to be in the same position, I fail to see how this could possibly go ahead unless it was moved to 2021, and even then it would be highly unlikely.  I think any major events such as this won't happen until there is either a "cure" or a vaccine available.

crowd involvement is great and at first glance I thought you could do this in the park around the MCG sans cars with byo chair but then you start to think logisitics..toilets , limiting the number of entrants etc and it all gets too hard.

How about a lucky thousand lottery so you could have one thousand at the MCG all sitting ten seats apart or similar

Really, spitting and shining one side is still tampering with the ball, regardless of what the rules permit or the history of manipulated swing bowling.

This is a good opportunity for the law makers of cricket to ban all forms of ball tampering.

Dutch football league cancelled, ladder leader Ajax won’t be declared as champions. This comes after Dutch Prime Minister announced a ban on large gatherings including sports will be extended until September 1st.

The other day I read the Germans set a possible date for resumption in late May yet neighbours Holland have gone screw this, it’s over. Trying to work out if everyone is on the same page here.

Copy and paste is no longer working for me on here for some reason, any help would be appreciated. The article came from 9 Wide World of Sports.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
