The Dees will play a scratch match this week against North Melbourne at Arden Street. Both teams played in the first week of the Marsh Community Series and neither team has an official match this week before they both travel to Tasmania next week to play different opponents.

North Melbourne v Melbourne
Arden Street Oval, North Melbourne
Friday 28 February, 1.10pm (AEDT)

If I were in charge I'd pick the following team:

Injured: Gawn, May, Jones, Fritsch, Petty + Long term guys
Rested: Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Vanders, McDonald, Melksham, Langdon, Hibberd, Salem + Jetta (all stars)

Possibles: Brayshaw, Chandler, J Smith

FB: Hore  Oscar   J Wagner
HB: Harmes  Lever  Lockhart
C : Tomlinson  Sparrow  Baker
HF: ANB   Brown  Hunt
FF: Pickett  Weideman  Bedford
Foll: Jackson  Jordon  Spargo
Int: Bradtke, Rivers + Casey players

Anyone know of ticketing detail / availability for this pre season scratch match?

Unless something has changed recently, it's like Gosch's anyone can just walk up to the oval boundary fence. Take a look on street view.

G'day DS, don't necessarily disagree with your team.

Just after an opinion around continuing to build the connection between the likely 1st rounders and also working on some of the deficiencies. Perhaps a squad of 28 and limit the time played by those you have suggested sit out. Perhaps even 2 teams by halves. The likely 22 in the first half?

I overheard someone at the family day mentioned that one of the players said that the team would be made up of mostly under 23s.

Well that would be 15 players including Oliver and Weid. You did say mostly. So that does leave some interesting selections.

I think I would give Melksham another run, he looked out of touch on Saturday.  I am not sure that #31 is injured, if not, give him a run too.  Still curious about Jayden. i.e. is he injured or on the outer.

#31 has a knee infection. Not sure of prognosis/availability.

Would make sense to build this around younger players and players who missed Marsh 1. Long season ahead.

Also, they may still be wanting to get more of a fitness base into them (best done/managed outside of having to play games).

You can see yourself out thanks!

I’ll be in town and attending.

Anyone else going along?

Yeah, heading down at this stage. Only chance to see some of the boys live before the real stuff begins.

I wonder if Weideman will get a chance to play forward. Seems unfair to play him out of position all pre season and judge him on that. I guess we don't have too many other ootions

Am I correct in thinking the game will be available to watch on the club website after the fact as myself and many others have work commitments.
