I have it on my calendar so I guess at some point I heard about it.

Haven't gone this year. The members forum late last year covered everything I used to go along to AGM to hear.

What? I had no idea it was on tonight. I was thinking  just today it must be soon.

Where was the communication? No email. Nothing that I saw on the MFC site.

I had planned to go. Ironically  was going to ask about their poor communication and what strategies they had to improve it.

It was advertised, refer to lord nevs' post and I also read about it. I also recall some on this site complaining that it was being held so late.

For once we are throwing out our ambitions publicly. I approve.

So do I. It gives the club nowhere to hide. About time we had the sack to ante-up.

Apparently, the MFC Annual General Meeting is officially underway at the MCG.

Do people still go?

Over 52,200 members didn’t go. Smallest AGM in years yet, we had highest membership last year. ?

I got up and spoke about the very same thing. Nothing on the Club official Ap. ?

That was two months ago! No wonder hardly anybody turned up! Nothing posted in the last fortnight that I saw. ?

Sorry nev, I am not having a crack at you here, but this was posted back in December. Over the past month or few weeks there has been no advertising reminder or any notice in the past week.

Sorry but this is incredibly poor communication by the club. For us to be a success club on and off the field it's the small things like this that we still have a long way to go, and need to get right first.

Nah not at all mate, didn't take it as a crack and I agree it's been swept under the rug a little bit seemingly.

Not sure if that's due to everything else going on PR wise, if they thought we'd just remember or they just didn't really want to push it.

TBF not a lot of people usually go though.

Doesn't that make you feel the members were not welcome.

Made me think they only wanted those members to come who were capable of long term planning...

Yes.

Or at the least certainly not encouraged. I mean they post a notice on the MFC site 6 December and that's it? You have to be kidding. What sort of message does that send?

If asked why they will no doubt talk about the members forum. But i didn't go t that as i wanted to go to the AGM and ask the board via the chairperson and CEO a question related to off filed performance not on filed stuff which i knew would be the focus of the members forum.

Sure i could have checked when it was but i had fully expected it would be promoted (and then flagged on here). It has in previous years.

I am not happy and will write to the club to express my frustration.

I went, I had it synced on my phone, my home computer and my work computer, so I got three reminders yesterday, all from the email in December, not bad for a 68 yr old

Also had it on the fridge

Which question do you want answered?

That most questions had been answered at the members forum, and the answers had been circulated via various means

Don't all members get a proxy form about the AGM with information on when it is on, if you really wanted to go you would have looked at the form and AGM notification, and put in your calendar I suspect you really didn't want to go, but saw it as a  opportunity the pot the club. vice-president. If there is no board member to elect there is no need for a proxy form.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
