I think you've confused the football surface with the more rigid demands of the farnarkle ground.

Gary Pert indicated last night that we will be using Gosch's from next week. And also that an announcement on a permanent base is getting very close.

Depending on your version of very close, that could be minutes, hours, days, months, years away!

Given the state election this year and that there is a working group comprising the club, state, and local government working through the planning process and with support from the AFL, I would be staggered if our MCG precinct facility is not announced in the lead up to the state election. Failing this we could threaten to move to Tassie if both state and local governments do not come to the party.

I would rather be head quartered at Casey. Never make a threat you are not prepared to carry out!

OD let's play the long game, if we carry out the threat and move to Tassie it will put the State Government, Local Government and AFL on notice that when we make a threat we see it through 💪.

Just put it in my dairy. Grand final celebrating after the 2023 GF at the new club rooms. How early do we need to book?

2023 too close @old dee

We will probably get something as an aside to womens 2023 soccer World Cup , or 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Can’t build something in less than 6 months, when it won’t be announced before November.

Hopefully we can both hang on until 2027!!

Or the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Although given the games will primarily be held in regional Victoria, our home base and social club might end up in Bendigo.

I said the same thing to the war office many years ago when discussing potential next holiday destinations.

Suffice to say i'm still hearing about this...many years later!

Let's hope we all do.  Surely three years should do it.

Worth remembering that building costs and timelines are at least double what they were a couple of years ago.

2025 will be footings only for a ridiculous amount of money.

Meanwhile there's truckloads of grant money down at Punt Rd. They'll need to build a new stand just to hold all the cash!

This was two weeks ago and yet we're still training out at Casey?

It pays not to take too much notice of these announcements DD! They are the mushroom stuff we have been fed for sometime now. If we train there this side of pre season 2023 I will be surprised.

My guess is that they like the idea of closed training. Will always be a drawback at the Paddock.

I hope they had the witches hats out at Casey replicating the size of Kardinia Park.

The witches hats only come out the week we play North. Genuine match simulation.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
