Ok I know this is totally random but a discussion I just read talked about the finals wins from last year and it got me really keen to watch them again, because hey why not it was fun watching it live!

Does anyone know where they might be available online to watch (preferably without having to fork out any $$$ for a subscription)?

Come over to my place; still saved on my Foxtel IQ.

Sad but true ?

Same, and I have watched both 3 or 4 times since the end of the season. Round 22 v West Coast has had a couple of views also.

That'd be two more than Goodwin and the prelim  eh?

Try YouTube, maybe not full games, but plenty of highlights.

You tunbe will most definelty have the full games. Let searc function be your friend.

If you have an AFL live pass (available to Telstra customers for free) there are full replays of all games going back several years.

Please no discussion on illegally obtaining AFL games.

Nothing of the sort of course! Hoping there could be a free trial option of something out there if it required a subscription of some kind.

All those and I think I also even have the Geelong win at the Catery from a few years back when they had a Max Gawn superstar feature week.  The break through win against the Hawks (back in 2016? was it) is still in there somewhere as well.

I actually have troubles deciding which old ones to delete, though I don't think too many from 2019 have been retained, perhaps with the exception of the game against the GC, but probably only the last 40 seconds of that is worth actually watching!

...and actually much like @Pates, at times in the past few weeks my mind has wandered towards re-watching those finals games of last year.  I think recalling 2018 gives me hope of rebounding to finals like competitiveness in 2020.

I think that's one of the main reason's why I'm watching them (watching the cats final right now), that talent and ferocity at the footy doesn't disappear. We had a mare of a 2019, but fitness and confidence can turn things around (or maybe that's just wishful thinking!).

The AFL site has changed recently. You used to be able to watch the 2018 finals there, but I went to view them this week and couldn't find them anywhere.

Kayo. Its cheap and and reliable but not just for AFL - has 50+ sports and the esoteric coverage of the sport of axe throwing is my new 2nd fav! (AFL demons games my 1st). Am watching the 2018 elimination final Mel v Gee 2018 right now. Hope this helps, GO DEES!

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
