Shattered but that's the way it goes. They should of given the priority next year.

So who is it Ash, Serong, Young or someone else? Thoughts?

Personally i think Lachie Ash, but the smokey i'd consider is Flanders who i think is going to be very good player.

young also ticks a lot of boxes. it's really him or Ash for me.

Bid for Tom Green.

If that’s matched (all but certain) I like the look of Young.

We won't take a Pick 3. We'll trade for a couple of lower first round picks (or some kind of combo with later picks).

Apart from anything else, we need to find a mid second-rounder for Langdon.

Sam Frost pick?

This pick is going to GWS for Toby  Greene, he wants to reunite with his father, after his father's arrest, he wants to understand why he is a cheap shot hero

Second rounder for Frost would be unlikely/daylight robbery.

Tom Greene if it can be done.

Brodie Kemp

Caleb Serong by a country mile if we hold on to pick three, (which I hope we do).

He's an extremely well rounded player who is exactly what we need in our forward half.

Not our pick 21 (and maybe a future pick back if they figure he is not worth pick 21)?

Is he an elite kick?

He's the [censored].

Just think of all the smart users. He's not a laser foot, just knows where to put it.

Hayden Young, watched a bit of the U18 championships IMO he is the best kick in the draft, meets a need an attacking HBF with a enough pace, good size

We should trade pick 22 and our 2020 first rounder for Langdon and pick 6 which Fremantle get from St Kilda.

Then we take 2 of Young, Serong, Weightman, Flanders and Ash...

Those three names are pretty much who we'll be looking at for pick 3.

A Smokey for this pick will also be Sam Flanders.

Has to be Hayden Young, he's the best kick in the draft, is an elite intercept mark, provides a lot of overlap run and is also very good defensively, he's even shown a contested side to his game this second half of the season. For a HBF has no weaknesses that I can see, reminds me of a taller bachar houli. He's exactly what we need perfect, hibbo replacement and allows Salem to push up on a wing if we need.

Just re Ash, our back half has no speed. May, Lever, Jetta, Salem, Hore are all neat kicks but it's that run and carry which we really lack currently

In today's footy, with the use of zones and screens. knowing where to put and being able to do so (e.g. by weighting the ball  chipping over a wall etc) is more important than a laser like kick.

Just look at how hard tigers made it for gws to get the ball forwa4d of centre.

This is one reason why fritter, who is a beautiful kick, turned it over often when playing back. Struggled to get it to where it needed to go.

Agree and further to it Tigers use laser handballs rather than kicks, sharp, low at the body and creative.

i'd be happy with any of Ash, Young, and Serong for pick 3. they all look good players and are not purely inside mid sorts.

but I do think they'll try and split the pick, probably with GWS, and draft a speedy forward type like Cody Weightman or Miles Bergman, and a rebounding half back sort like Will Gould instead.

Ash to me is exactly what we need, Half back with speed, composure, and a beautiful long kick, he loves to take the game on.

if you've got him and Salem on the flanks our kicking out of the back half suddenly looks a hell of a lot better. and Hibbo either has a hard time holding his spot or potentially could make the move further up the ground to a wing.

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
