It is next Monday night.  Will be telecast live on website and app.

The club/AFL scribe has listed a number of players in contention the-best-and-fairest-contenders

  • Gawn
  • Brayshaw
  • Fritsch
  • Frost
  • Harmes
  • Hunt
  • Oliver
  • Petracca
  • Salem
  • Viney.

As votes are given per game, those that played the most games have the best chance of polling well which may explain some surprise names in the list and some notable omissions.

My tips for top 3:

  • Gawn by a country mile
  • Oliver
  • Petracca

Could easily have picked Viney or Salem for 3rd.

Harmes won't win it as of course Gawny is hot as and Oliver is his bridesmaid ha ha. However i can honestly say that the last couple of years  Harmes has been the most  ultra consistent  and a  valuable player and deserves to finish in the top 3 best players.

He is a dark horse  but  Gawny has been extraordinary.

It says a lot about our year when one of the nominated players in contention for the b&f was dropped at the end of the season despite a massive injury list.

Said player also did his best work in the forward line, got moved to the backline and got dropped 2 games later.

i’m over 2019 let Toby Green scratch the eyes out of Richmond. Mumford to go out swinging, not worried about drug testing in his last game and bring on 2020.

I thought it was quite a poor group of players overall but they are the few that played nearly every game.

Its a bit of an indictment on the voting system that rewards number of games played.  No game, no votes.  So some of our better players aren't 'eligible'.

If anyone is going the occasional update would be handy, or a bit of gos would be welcome!

News of new club base location/progress.?

Jaguar signing up for next year(s).?

Outcomes from the presentation to the AFL Commission a few weeks ago.

News of replacements for T. Viney, Jennings, Rawlings etc.  We wouldn't want to fall behind other clubs looking for similar staff.

A friend of a friend (so don’t shoot me) says the count will be close, as close as you can get! Original source was a journalist so who can you trust
for me it is Gawn and Oliver.

The Chief, 99 and the 2 junior agents are all attending tonight’s B&F.  Last year was a great celebration, on reflection maybe a bit too much self congratulation. Expect that attending tonight’s will be a bit like shooting myself in the shoephone.

There wasn't that much daylight between Big M & Clarry but agree on the second part DD.

Nice work 'Lenny" or should I say "Barry"

You are still by far the 'hardest man' on here.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
