We got Dunkley when we could have got Pickett? Bloody hell.

And so could possibly 16 other teams too. An inexact art / science is recruiting

Hang your head in shame MFC.

Pickett coming to a club that plays with no purpose would not have helped him.

I wonder if Goody and Co were watching and thinking "we are no wear near this level"?

Small Forwards, pace, foot skills and turnover pressure, is all he should be thinking about over the break and pre season.

All we need is

A home ground

A dynamic president

Recruiters with a vision

A development program

A skilled coach

A club culture

A dozen or so extra top line players.

Sounds like the exact opposite to where we've been heading doesn't it

Would have to have been one of the most boring GF's after quarter time.

Sure they have a lot of talent, but GWS remain a cultureless franchise.

Martin again....boring

Pickett wouldn't fit into Goodwin's "handball around aimlessly in circles until we turn it over" game plan.

Just heading home after a thoroughly un entertaining game.  Tigers now with 12 premierships, equal with us.  The best team over the last 12 weeks won this day, deservedly so.  Regardless it was dullsville at the G and not representative of a great season. A pity for us neutrals.

Hopefully the Storm can roll the Cronksters tonight...

You and WiseBlood

The Happy Clappers

My Outrage is how pathetic my club is

It’s all too hard.

Mid you knew what I have been through in 56 years, then you would understand why

But I know that would be beneath you....

Saw our game in Perth in round 9. We put in a good show for over half the game but as you say when WC went up a gear it was all just too hard for us. We more already less gave up the season then and there,  That game summed up our whole shocker of a season.

Might have helped if Goodwin reviewed the preliminary and gave them some direction.

reading some of the sad sacks here you would think melbourne just played richmond today

it's just pathetic and repetitiously boring. how many ways can you say the same things?

Many ways are learned through many years. Call it experience.

Richmond finished last year exactly the same as we did.

It’s all just too hard, when it counts

That Round 9 game was our best performance for the year. The peak.

collapsed after that

It would take a dull brain to not see what it takes to win a flag and not compare where we are to where we need to get to. Each to there own though, ignorance and denial helps some sooth the pain.

Tipping tigers win at least two more premierships by 2026; would make for minimum of four in a decade

Could easily be more

They play stunningly good football

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
