So many reasons he should have been retained. Failure because the coaching department couldn't fix his greatest liability being his disposal and decision making? Or just for letting him go? I assume both maybe. Edited October 11, 20196 yr by Yung Blood

Please. Don't attempt to rewrite history; Frost has all the athleticism to be great, but certainly never has been.
October 11, 20196 yr will miss frosty, truly a maverick of the modern game. Now to remove his name from my bio
October 11, 20196 yr If the future second rounder goes to Freo for Langdon it’s impossible to see how this isn’t a great result.

You dont give out big and/orlong term deals to depth players and when you trade them for 2nd round picks its a win. We are about to trade a 2nd round pick for a guy who has finished top 5 in his clubs B&F the last 2 seasons.

McDonald becomes our main key defender then it will be a disaster. Lever (and May) have cost us big time. 2 first rounders, King (GC) and Frost; and an chest full of $$. Geelong worked Lever out in his first game for memory, by getting a first gamer to isolate him one-on-one. I don't hope Frost sticks it up us; he will stick it up us. Clarko is an absolute genius. He is getting a robust guy, entering his prime, with elite speed that can pinch hit ruck, WING and to a lesser extent forward....for what...a late 2nd round draft pick next year? Hawks make the 8 next year comfortably. Frost and September are made for each other. I will be looking at twitter when Goody gets the RRRs in the next year or 2. Frosty might have a Maloney type message for him. Gave supreme effort. Provided solitary speed. Was a bonefide top 5 player this year....who just managed to double Jordan Lewis' voting in the B&F. pTGR

Big win for Mahoney Points aside are we actually getting anything? 50 is a small upgrade on 61 Don't put much practical value on our future 4th Hawks future 2nd (35-45 range after next years F/S amd academy players) roughly equal to/small upgrade/downgrade on our current 42. Not unhappy with the trade but can't help but feel we gave him away. Edited October 11, 20196 yr by Lucifer's Hero

Points wise (I know, I know) we've given Frost away for pick 50 (based on estimated draft order for 2020).
October 11, 20196 yr Doesn't seem a good deal but looks like we wanted to get rid of him no matter what.

Some of us stuck fat with Frost and ignored the tide of consensus. I must admit though, pretty tough to ignore his supreme effort and speed in 2019. You probably think Nick Riewoldt's view on him versus Lever and May was amusing also. But we are the MFC. We pin our hopes on one (Barassi, Watts, Flower, Scully); and we are also great at anointing a scapegoat for all our ills too. Last year it was Watts. This year Frost.

I'm not as 'down' as Frosty as some on this site, whilst acknowledging their concerns about his flaws, however @Nasher is right; a great result if this trade converts into Langdon.

A lot worse than 50 when factoring in about 15-20 1st and 2nd round Father/son Academy picks next year. That is why it looks to me we have given him away. With only one buyer and an apparent driver to move him on, I think we were in a position where we had to take what we could get. Probably lucky we had a pragmatic trading partner and not someone like Bellend or Dododo.

If you use the calculator and overlay with this years results for future picks then we're essentially getting a 3rd rounder for Frost.

Fair enough mate, can agree with that logic, I'm holding fire for the Langdon deal, but just disappointed we didn't squeeze out more value from him.
