There is no way of truly knowing either way whether he has or hasn't peaked AF.  Whether he's at the MFC or elsewhere, only time will tell.

He isn't a turnover king at all AF.  He had 21 players ahead of him this season.  Does he leave his man behind and the opp score either directly through his opponent or by having a spare up forward when he does turn it over up the field with a few caught out in offensive positions?  Seems likely eh.

Unfortunately few others down back capable of escaping their opponents much of the time, which probably means they also aren't capable of running in support once he gets on one of his Frostball runs.  Is that lack of run / support more to do with a coaching game style (team rules) issue / or more a confidence / belief thing i wonder?  Or maybe personnel related...just don't have the leg speed in general?

That would mean an adjustment to ensure he finds a target by hand or foot much earlier into his manic runs or a few others need to run in support maybe (or if we don't have them we need to recruit a few in)?  Can't be that hard to fix surely.

Clearly it is, because he still makes stupid errors that a 26 year old shouldn't be making.

Even the champs make occasional stupid errors AF.   Might be a late bloomer being so tall and a bit unco early.  Not saying he''s a champ or must keep player but certainly better than some further down the list that i would move on before him.

Again useless stats.  Surely the fact he is equal with O Mac tells you that.

I would also argue most players would take on more difficult kicks and this is what impacts their %.  Frost and O Mac both butcher 20m passes.

That is total rubbish.or at least part of it is. Omac is our most reliable kick in our backline

I’d argue Jetta over him, with O Mac ahead of May

Omcd.  Gets beaten man on man. Slow.  Poor decision maker.  Most reliable kick ?  I’m must have been watching another player. Though he is good at 15 metre mini chips that only add to slow down play.

Yep, not a bad argument. But i reckon over 50 metres Omac has Jetts covered.

A few whispers around suggesting Frost may have re-signed and announcement pending soonish.

I've been hearing it too. But haven't heard from anyone credible yet. If we're not getting Elliot, I imagine that's the only reason we hadn't signed him until now.

Good I hope it’s true.

Surely whatever we're paying Frost isn't the difference between us trying to land Elliott...

I have heard this is 100% correct.  We needed cap space to land Elliot and I dare say if he has stayed at the Pies, then we can afford to keep Frost.

Probably meant we offered more money to Frost. The rumours of Collingwood upping their offer to Elliot and Frost re-signing are too close together to not be a coincidence. I don't know for certain, but that's my gut feel.

I hope the whispers are correct, frostball played some very exciting footy over the last couple of years and it would be a shame to let him slip through our fingers. We have no one that could man him up...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had a decisions to choose between Frost and Elliot then i am choosing Elliot, daylight then Frost.

Wouod Keath choosing dogs be another factor? Or is it simply cap space?

If we needed cap space to get Elliott, why would we resign ANB and J. Wagner, who are not best 30 at MFC?

Some serious questions needs to be asked on how the hell that a team finishing 2nd last is bursting at the salary cap??

That you have [censored] fart deals to blokes like Josh Wagner and Alex Neal Bullen for 2 years!?

Is this Mahoney again doing all this??

Because they would be on base wages and you would still have to replace them.

Because it’s the same team that made the prelim the year before.  So we had a poor year, let’s cut wages!

Not true at this stage, probably not at all.

This is what some of us have been banging on about for years. Our List Management & TPP is a farce. How lucrative it has been to be a good ordinary B or C Grader at the Dees over the years.  Also hasn’t helped overpaying so much for a bloody 3rd tall defender with ACL history.

You’ve got no idea if you think ANB is on Base Payments.

You’ve heard it from Ethan?  :)

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
