Re-signed in 2017 for 2 years until the end of 2019.

Yeah, but thought there was word kicking around a couple of weeks ago he had re-signed?

Edit - Scratch that, just saw @Demon Forever's other reply. Cheers.

Dollars and term of contract... the curse of a 10-22 ranked player hitting form at signing time .. we know it well.

His worth probably increased 100k per season in 2019.

At least if he goes to Hawthorn they will have to trade unlike us for Langdon.

Second rounder or player if he has to go.

I really do not want to trade him. He's a unique asset and came a long way in 2019, BUT would we consider Frost for Isaac Smith?

(Not saying I want that, just wondering what the club would be looking at)

Melbourne have not made a formal offer to Frost. Interesting...

Classic Melbourne.

Frost is no super star but at least we gets on the park each week and provides us with some run and dash which we severely lack.

Frosty and Langdon are OOC so both clubs need to trade...are you thinking of Tomlinson who is an RFA.

Say it aint so @Supermercado

I see Hawthorn reckon they haven't met him. Must have just been at Waverley buying a milkshake or something ?

Sounds like we are still keen to sign him going by this quote:

“When contacted by The Age, Frost's manager Anthony McConville said he was yet to receive a formal contract offer from Melbourne, but he was confident the two parties were having positive discussions.

"He's been told he's a required player at Melbourne," McConville said”

we are 17 so only GC can trump us for Langdon

He just puts his price out there. Freo can have some steak knives if need be. Stretch/JKH or similar.

Hawks could get trumped by 8 odd clubs for Frost.. very different

I'm a bit confused Diamond_Jim.  Do you mean, in theory, we could get Langdon in the pre-season draft...

I suspect the GCS would jump at him unfortunately.

Just read the article.

It really is a bit of a nothing article. Just mention that hawks havent even met up with him and dees yet to put in a formal offer.

that's where we need to chat with GCS. Wouldn't be the first time a player got to the club he wanted.

They will also have salary cap constraints and it can comedown to a bluffing game.

Bottom line is that we have to play serious hardball with freo and any talk of our second rounder (almost a first) is way way too high.

Sam McClure jumping on the bandwagon.

He's the one who wrote the article in The Age.

Imagine this team with no Frosty. About the only player we have with a bit of X factor about him and who i look forward to watching now.  Heart in mouth stuff but at least he makes it interesting.

Sounds like a fishing expedition by Mr McConville to see who comes sniffing around, or to make someone panic and throw themselves on the hook

Thank goodness O-Mac is locked away!

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
