So where to from here for the under 19 championships?

Now that Victoria’s lockdown has been extended and the Andrews government seems to have lost control of this Delta strain, I can’t see any further games taking place.

Oh mama.
another 25 touches and 2 goals.

I asked the same thing back on page 10 but know one around here seems to know.

Does he have pace? feel like if you have pace you are more workable than others.

We are Potentially losing:
Jones
VandenBerg
Nietschke

Feel like if we can get Taj with a low pick we are laughing.

Losing a couple of others perhaps as well

but if we get Taj. Then we get his old man back as well.  It’s a fence we need to repair IMV.

should not have happened should not have gone to the filth.

Go Dees.

its ours to lose this year. Believe enough, go hard enough, concentrate above the shoulders enough.
it’s our time Demons !

Yes, but Taj is also really handy on the right foot too. He has really clean hands in traffic and picks the ball up clean.

He’s had a consistent season and from all accounts made significant improvement from the start of the year. This raises the question about what it takes for someone playing at that level to get promotion to senior football.

Definitely a father-son pick for the Dees.
Late draft pick likely.

Taj’s teammates Corey Warner (probably draft 30-35) and Finn Gorringe (probably draft range 50-55) also looked possible draftees from the recent SA - WA underage. Warner hunted the footy and looked very capable as inside-out mid. Mop of blonde hair made him standout in the contest.  Gorringe is the composed half back-back pocket with courage and skills. Small defender.

Did Taj play in the Colts last year as well and if so, how did he go?

He played a few games towards the end but mostly school footy I'm pretty sure.

I'm not sure how he went to be honest. @Pennant St Dee is usually on top of the school footy side of things in WA.

Yes your correct DD, he played mostly with Aquinas last season but broke into the East Freo colts late in the season. I didn’t see a lot of him last season but as I posted last year my information was that East Freo FD and Aquinas footy people were very excited about his commitment and desire to work hard and get the best out of himself, which would see him flourish at the next level

Great news ... is that state match still available anywhere for viewing?

East Fremantle 7.13.55 won its Colts final against West Perth 3.8.26 this afternoon. Taj Woewodin didn’t hit the scoreboard but managed 23 disposals (12k, 11h), 8 marks and 5 tackles. He’s consistent!

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
