Whilst we are all in the mathematics of trying to improve the team, we should see how we can really engineer a coup. Let’s trade both Tom McDonald and his brother Oscar McDonald to the Suns. The Ballarat boys would love the sun and surf.  They both have frustrated the hell out of me and I’m yet to be convinced they would be up getting premiership medallions on the big dance day.

What would the disparate and desparate Suns give?  Ben King and pick 40 (start of 3rd round).

why not see what rebuild we can truly deliver

Yes. I know. It’s like all the trades for Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney.  Ridiculous isn’t it.  Yet we have pages of pages.  I think Gawn and Oliver might be the only safe ones if you read demonland.  Crazy times and crazy posts ahead.

Have heard GC have inquired about Harmes.

Bloody hell. This off-season is shaping up to be as painful as the season proper if these recent threads are anything to go by.

Can we have a special unique, bizarre thread where people only post actual news or at least rumours of substance.

Give this thread three pages and people will be talking about how the McDonald's are disgruntled and want out and Tom only played badly this season because he was put of by Mahoney eyebrows.

There is merit to this trade. Basically Tmac for Ben King so we get a forward for next 12 years.

Secondly we clean up pick 40 for OMac which gives us an overs return for him.

We have all seen Tmac struggle being the #1 forward for a season now so his value will further drop if he is proven to be consistently bad as the main focus point.

And finals haven’t even started yet.....Harmes is next I’m guessing.

The voices in your head chatting away again?

Rubbish thread. We need KPFs, and he’s the only mature one we’ve got. Had a poor year by his standards, but is probably in a handful of who are off limits.

Yes, you did mention it at the top of the thread. I hope we politely refused and pointed them toward the closest surf beach.

It might be easier to have a thread for players we aren’t going to trade.

Let’s be honest.  We are suffering from DDSS.  DISAPPOINTED DEMONS SUPPORTERS SYNDROME.

A shocking mental disease that cripples it’s sufferers.  Leaves you mentally on the edge

Hahahaha lets just bloody trade everyone.

hearing we are going to sign jeffy again just so we can trade him

Unless we are in prime position to pick up another FF this can't be done. We already looked impotent going forward, Tom had a god awful year, while Weids didn't develop and also had injury concerns.

We cant trade out one of our pillars unless we are guaranteed to get one back that is ready to slot straight in.

I’m a fan of Harmes so I hope there is nothing to it. Can see him being part of our next premiership.

Not sure what's worse the trade part or the suggestion two blokes from Edenhope in rural Victoria would like to live on the GC

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
