Will be worth nothing than a fourth round so why the hell not.

4th round? I don’t think so.

He is worth a lot more than that. More like early 2nd round I would think.

Throw in Westhoff then! He can play up forward.

Just 12 months after attempting to break his contract but failing to find a suitor, Amon will spend the next week mulling over interest from clubs including Melbourne and St Kilda.

AFL.com.au understands the Power have tabled a three-year offer to Amon with the belief he could still remain at Alberton.

It comes after a career-best season in which the 24-year-old played 17 matches and forged his place in the Power's best line-up.

The Demons have spoken openly about chasing outside ball users in the mould of Amon, while the Saints have been active in approaching talent from elsewhere.

Dees and Saints circling Power mid

I have kept a close eye on him the past few weeks and he has surprisingly been playing very well. Neat left foot who wpuld add speed and outside run.

Absolutely would be happy with this. The type that would thrive on an open space on the G

I would class him as a young, improving winger. Couple of injury bumps along the way so has been a 'late' bloomer IMO. Good athlete, sold kick. The key word in regards to us that you'll hear about him is 'competitor'.

Thanks @dazzledavey36 & @Lord Nev for sharing your observations.

Im keen for the club to inject some young run and carry. I wonder if the Burgess and Richo additions would make guys like Amon consider us now?

Amon and Langdon would be good starts at improving on 2019

Great point! Hadn't even thought about that.

no...rediculous.

We already have Baker, Dunkley, JKH, Stretch, Brayshaw, Hunt, Jordan, Kolodjashnij, Sparrow, C Wagner

we don't need Amon, Langdon or Hill.....we just need to administer a game plan where these players are utilized effectively.

K Amon : averaging 19 disposals @ 75% efficiency & 4 turnovers per game & .5 goals per game.

What?????? 8 out of 10 you have listed are fringe players at best.

This should say the Saints have been active chasing anyone.

They're trying to outdo the Roos in their bid to throw money at anyone out of contract.

Brayshaw can't or won't play wing, Jordon is a great prospect but I wouldn't back in any of the others you've named.

Baker can't find the pill, Dunkley still a bit early to tell without a preseason, JKH depth at best, Stretch VFL level/depth, Hunt time to move on, Kolo may not ever get on the park, Sparrow more likely to make it as Jetta's replacement if he is to make it at all, Wagner C to slow in his decisions and reactions again VLF/depth...

Langdon is a must get along with at lest one small forward and then who ever we pick up in the draft.

If Brayshaw moves on then it opens up more opportunities to improve the list balance...

I know the family so I keep an eye on Karl. I dont think he is worth more than a late 2nd rounder. He is 24 now and plays well when the team is going strong. he is fast though and his last couple of weeks have been good, one fantastic goal.

Stick him on one wing and Langdon on the other, put Young on a HBF and our run and kicking have all improved.

disagree.....but if you think Karl Amon is the answer to the demons outside run, accountability & efficiency issues, then the Dees have major problems coming in 2020. The problem is not with the list, the problem is with the game plan & game style. Sure, some of those players are fringe players, no denying that, however, some of those fringe players were out performing some of our more elite 'named' senior players who had 'checked out' 3 weeks ago.

Pick 3 for Amon and Pick 10?  Maybe throw in a future 3rd round pick as a sweeter.

Thats a very high price for someone who i dont believe would be top 22.

I am not sure what games you watch but none of those players out performed anyone.

You mentioned Langdon in your post and he is a massive upgrade on all those players besides Brayshaw.

The game needs tweaking but our issue is the majority of our players are ball getters and therefore when we do get they have no runners to give it to.

For anyone unaware of the year that Amon has had as an outside mid and his importance to Port, read this:

Would be a great get. Suits our needs nicely

Agreed. Great kick. Wins the footy. Happy to make a 3 year offer.

Would be 6th in our list for average metres gained in 2019.  Has pace and a 74.3% DE and is rated as elite for Goal Assists.  I think he'd get a game.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
