Can I please watch a football game without Garry Lyon constantly putting a downer on the demons. Followed this awesome club for nearly 40 years now. Sick of hearing his sarcastic [censored] commentary and putrid comments. [censored] Him off from anything involving the demons annoys me so much. We know we aren’t playing well don’t need a constant reminder from this [censored]

Unless we find a way to "Make Melbourne Great again" you better get used to it.

Cue the Democrats... "Melbourne was never that great".

True. He should only be focusing on the positives such as .......

positive that this is the worst team in he comp right now ...

As an ex captain of this club, he's more than entitled to his opinion.

If you don't want to be constantly reminded of how bad the Demons are going, I'd suggest not ever turning on your TV or opening a newspaper.

We are woeful at the moment. Best you get used to it.

fmd what did he say?

I'm sick of people on here and on Facebook posting [censored] without context.

Sound like you don’t like hearing harsh truths. It’s his job to commentate, we are playing bad. What do you want him to say?

Nothing. Just doing his job well.

Hard for anyone to commentate a Melbourne game and not be negative. We are woeful.

Lyon is being honest. The turnovers and dropped marks are ridiculous.

More than you, it would seem

Seriously, another thread bagging Lyon FFS, some people cant deal with the truth

Yeah how dare a former captain of the club and team of the century player whose job it is to commentate say things about the club he played for. Worst thread ever.

ABC radio were thrashing us, it’s not just 1 commentator.

Are you [censored] serious!?? He has every right to sink the boots in like anyone else. There is not sugar coating this at all! Everything he has said today has been spot on. He is not a MFC paid official he's a media commentator who's role is to give his opinion and thoughts.

I hope we cop it hard all week!

I hear a fair bit of Garry around the place and he is one of the only media types who watches Melbourne close enough to have an accurate opinion. Almost everything he says about us, which is obviously mostly negative at the moment, I agree with.

Is that you Billy?

What was sad for me to hear is how listless Anthony Hudson was. The man is a quality commentator and can build excitement for the contest.

But Melbourne (and Collingwood!) were so listless and bog standard that you could tell he wanted to be anywhere but the commentary box.

FMD what a waste of three hours for everyone involved...even the security guards who only had to watch over several thousand bored people just sitting there like stunned mullets.

Go and hide mate, coz after a comment like that this place isn’t going to be good for you mentally.

Garry is 100% right in his negative assessment of us.

This thread is a shambles. Mods close it down.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
