May has been fantastic since returning, and quite frankly one of the few reasons I've continued to watch games, and not resort to full blown alcoholism.

This year just keeps on giving.

Also, why is the official statement that OMac took time off mid season to get his body right? I thought he'd just been playing terribly (I know there are some who disagree), and was dropped.

If I underperform at work, and am relegated to the mail room, I don't get to say I'm building the skills necessary for my substantive job?!

I'm so confused.

He was playing terribly, right? His form at Casey has not been much better! Why is he back?

Little to do with Burgess or Misson if players are put back on or not, it's the MEDICAL team who make those calls.

Further, you would need to be able to show that May going back on is the reason he's missing 1-2 weeks (with a hamstring we presume), as opposed to he would have missed that in any case.

Not sure why the surprise re O'Mac. He had his break/rebuild after a non-existent pre-season (hip operations), and his form at Casey has been OK to very good.

But apart from all that, with Hore and May out, and Petty now as our emergency forward because both Tom Mac and Weideman are out (and Preuss isn't up to it as a forward), who else was there?

Though I'd take an in-form Oscar over Petty as a back any day of the week, and Frost as well - Frost's attack and general mayhem is worth having, but as a one-on-one pure defender he's too easily beaten by smarter/experienced forwards. Oscar's also a more reliable kick coming out of the back line, something we desperately need in any case.

Oh joy Omac is back.

Preuss still should be in the side to develop the chemistry with Max. I know Preuss form wasn’t great last week but most of team has been pathetic for the season so it makes no difference

Our season is dead so I don’t  see the point in not playing them together this season so that next season they can hit the ground running.

This season has been abysmal and an absolute waste of a season.

I cant wait for it to end. That’s how much fun our team is to follow.

In-form Oscar?? When was that??

With OMac back

at least I can smile at the expected

(rightly or wrongly) outrage from posters on land.

I have no idea if it’s the correct choice or the wrong  but ........hell we might even win

Go Dees

Will be interesting to see the Casey side this week with the emergencies available to play on Sunday. I see the selection this week a a balance between being competitive against the Saint and trying to keep Casey in the race for a finals berth.

Rubbish.

Oscar was getting outbodied and outmarked by 185cm no names forwards against the doggies in his last VFL game to the point where they had to shift him forward.

He is depth now and the sooner May is back the quicker Omac is back at Casey.

Petty has already shown be has more tricks then Oscar. Time to put all of our development into Petty once our forward line is up and running.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
