People. Unfortunately there is not much in the two's and we will have to put up with this crap for rest of year , playing blokes that should be in a suburban comp let alone VFL. We are officially the 2nd worst team. ANB, Hannan and many others are just not good enough. That shot by Fritta just summed up our day and season. I've had enough of this and trying to find excuses. Not Umpires fult it was our own players with about 6-8 VFL players at best.

So after yet another rebuild started by Roos in 2014 & 6 seasons later we are sitting bottom 4. Players like Petracca & Brayshaw have gone backwards, we can't take a mark inside 50 or even contest & the ball just rebounds back. Fed up with the excuses & understand injuries have been tough but good teams find a way. Who will be held accountable for yet another disastrous season & yet the club expects its suffering members to hang in there & watch another rebuild unravel. Its number 3 since 2008 & who knows how many since 64!

Six years in to the latest rebuild.

Dub administration. Anyone who thinks this year is a blimp needs their head read.

Dud coach- the concept of coaching is not all about game plans it is improving players weaknesses both in the area of skill and mental approach.

Dud recruiting

Too many dud players.

Other than that we’re going alright.

Frustrating again, missed chances that make you scream at the telly and a heap down on output yet we nearly won it, although the Dogs hammered the points early in the 3rd and it might have been game over.

The Dogs were allowed to clear from kick-ins easily yet ours seem like extremely hard work to even find someone standing on their own. The start of the 3rd was painful after all their behinds. Would have preferred a goal from them just to get the ball back in the centre. Time to experiment with a new zone defending kick-ins because this one is clearly not working.

Re-ignite the small forwards thread, where are our players when the ball hits the deck? It really stood out today, similar to the Lions game.

Petty definitely showed a bit up forward. Keep him there for the rest of the year and Salem is looking at a top 3 B&F finish. Thought Trac was very good again but a miss like that can’t be excused.

Hope we try to take Henry in this next draft. Exactly what we need.

Wise, seriously dude, go back into retirement.

We are rank. Time for excuses are well and truly over. We cannot possibly continue to make the excuses we do and maintain any sort of self-respect.

Other teams find a way against ordinary teams like the Dogs regardless of injuries.

And yet here you are once again, blindly defending the rubbish we serve up in the name of "Football"

The Bulldogs are NOT a good side, and we are reportedly a good team on this ground of late, and we still found a way to lose.

This has to stop. It just has to.

MAKE

IT

STOP

*dont reply with your normal common sense..... it will be lost on me in my current mood.

Serious problems and issues to address. None will make 2020 clear sailing

Jones and Lewis will be gone. They not be playing well but will leave a hole in leadership.

Brayshaw looks close to lost to footy, certainly with us.

ANB, Hannan need to go.

We do not have a matchwinner no matter how good Oliver is.

We do not have players that lap up the big moments.

And on it goes.

We actually have NO idea about how to play this modern game...NONE

Goodwin should have put the cue in the rack 5 -6 rounds ago. His game plan now looks desperate.

Rushing underdone players back all year. Detrimental to the list and confidence.

Jetta and Lever were silly inclusions in hindsight.

Can't afford to stuff up another summer break. Need a fit and firing best 22 next year.

Some things never change Wise, good to have you back around.

This coach continues to rush in underdone players , why?

Just think we could have has a suburban coach, President and CEO for the past 6 years and be in much the same position. It is mind boggling. many will criticize but Roos for 2-3 years was always a desperate move.

mate...all the p;layers in the world wont help

consider:

A good chef with a sound knowledge of food can conjour an incredible meal with the most basic ingredients....because he understands it.

The same chef with rubbish ingredients will struggle....but he/she will cook according to what is before them.

A good recipe can work ok with average ingredients if the cook knows what hes doing.

A very poor recipe will yield something totally unpalatable irregardless of who's cooking simply because it's flawed.

If you have a very mediocre cook...no chef...and Ok ingredients but a poor recipe you will always get crud.

I say time and time again....our demise is by design.

Likely because he is a VFL standard coach.

Personally dont care what he is thinking right now. He might have been a great administrator but he didnt knowmuch about footy.

Should give Hannan a little slack.

Hope his younger bro puts in a few of those games for us in a year or two!

Loved the goal Kyle kicked over Josh's head for his first AFL goal.

Jetts was not ready. Some critical errors.

Felt like we were coached not to win.

Why was Lewis in the midfield,  would love to know how often we viney,  oliver and brayshaw in there together.  Jetta was clearly not ready.

Someone needs to teach ANB to pass the ball not just kick it.

Importantly someone needs to teach tbe Melbourne players to take a hit while disposing the ball - we just handball to anything remotely red/blue under the merest suggestion of pressure (it could even be a shadow)

Quite right Ding. I am sick of the worshipping at the Jackson altar. Sure he was competent. That was his job. He couldn't give a stuff, just like pert and all the rest.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
