It still astounds me that we can get 50k+ members for a team that has performed well in 5 years of the last 55.

We must be the most deluded bunch of people in society.

Anyone know by how much the 3 game membership inflates the figures.

I said that the communication from the club to members this year has been appalling. Have not heard boo from our CEO. You’d hardly know he works at MFC

Who and does he?

I feel sorry for the receptionist who has to answer the phone each monday morning.

I doubt there is much abuse, these days you can get it off your chest well before monday morning.

The lack of anything from him just seems so strange to me. I honesty cannot get my head around it

Today I got around to filling in the survey and I've finally got it off my chest. It's been bugging me for years. I am sick and tired of only ever being offered a free scarf every year. Where's the innovation? How about socks or a cap?

Seriously, it's good that they conduct the survey (assuming they read the answers). AFL football clubs are strange beasts. Full of members, most of whom the club administration never gets to meet. A survey is at least one way of finding out what moves the membership, for good or ill.

All of my family are speaking louder by not filling it in......

Didn’t get one

Because I didn’t continue my Membership

Because I refuse to contribute to Lewis’s superannuation

We have three memberships in our household, and with another one due in October, it would have been four next season. I automatically rollover each year but opted out for next season. People can call me whatever they want but I’m holding off on purchasing our memberships for next season until I see the results. I’m not contributing to a  dysfunctional football team anymore.

One can only speculate widely on what people might call you Ethan.

Must say after 40 odd years of membership I am prepared to give them next year but like many I am tiring.

May I inquire as to what you mean by results.. is that a reference to the remainder of this season... cause it ain't looking pretty.

Same.

I will make my membership an "Event", not a "Trend" in future.

Win back the respect lost this year, and make solid progress on a permanent home. Those 2 items will have me digging into my wallet again. (Well, credit card to be precise)

Besides, we are already Bulletproof off the field. The club said so.

As stated previously I view my membership as a charitable donation.

Think of it that way with occasional year where I  benefit..

Yep, that'll show 'em!

Interesting albeit dated puff piece by  a mob that did some analysis on Richmond's membership

https://home.id.com.au/case-studies/richmond-football-club/

"We started by mapping the location of current and past Richmond members. It showed a clear spatial pattern with membership strongest in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs, fanning out from the club’s heartland in Richmond (the red areas on the map below).

Then the demography comes in. We know that when the children of current Richmond supporters grow up and leave home, we can predict with some confidence where they will move to. In Melbourne there is a clear northwest and southeast divide. People that grew up in the southeast have a strong tendency to move further southeast to a suburb they can afford when they buy their family home. Demographers call this outward sectoral migration.

You can clearly see people who live in Richmond strongholds fanning out across the east and southeastern suburbs (the yellow arrows on the map below)."

I haven't filled mine in either demonstone but you maybe right - completing it would send the message - I suppose.

Unfortunately, nowadays, everyone has a survey or wants feedback.

If I contact my bank or other service providers they ask for a survey. I received a parcel via Australia Post and they wanted a survey. I don't use uber but I believe you are asked to rate the driver.

Before you know it even the good ladies who provide ……….. err .. " personal services" …….. will require a rating.

I simply cannot be bothered with any of it.

On-field results for the first few gamesmanship next season.

Renewed mine already

The team needs it's members more when times are tough

And (IMHO) comment and criticism carry far more weight from those who remain committed through tough times (not suggesting you aren't ET)

I think they'd get the picture of how supporters are feeling atm.

Demonland represents only a small percentage of the Membership/supporters base. Also, a self-selecting group.

Maybe bing!

But we represent a very high percentage of the perverts and intellectuals that follow the dees

That counts!

You really don't have any idea how feedback works, do you?....

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
