I love the attitude... [censored] picks. I just want wins, if that means 9th place finish with pick 10 as apposed to a pick 3 I really don't care. We can just draft another Christian Salem rather than a toumpassĀ

Absolutely. We need more than anything else to establish a cultureĀ of winning.

We have had 55 years of not winning. Done that.

I would love it if we win enough game toĀ make 9th.

I look forward to the posts on DL bemoaning the crows and WC losses.Ā

Look at our last effort to bottom out. Netted us money bags, trenners and the toump (sounds like a bad SA breakfast radio slot). All gone.

Win. Win. Win. i for one have watched enough bloody losses by my team.

Capital o and l looked better

Not sure if many follow the NHL around here, but here is an optimistic story for every Demonlander.

The St. Louis Blues were dead last in the NHL on January 3rd this year (that's 31 teams).Ā This was around the halfway mark of the season. They then went on a huge run, made it into the playoffsĀ and are now one game away from winning the Stanley Cup (series lead 3-2).

Maybe we shouldn't give up just yet?

Also [censored] the Bruins

TMac is fine - it's the midfield

Have to respectfully disagree on this one.

Did Lever get through todays training session??

Man it is exciting having May and Lever in the 18.Ā

JKH bit stiff to miss out but he did butcher the ball. Hannan was more deserving of the chop but stays in for positional need and as he is a better player

INT: Spargo - HibberdĀ  -Stretch - Preuss - Weed - ANB - Garlett - Wagner

My guess: Hibberd, Weed, Garlett, ANB

out Wagner, Spargo, Stretch, WagnerĀ

Contrary to popular opinion I don't agree with everything this FD does, I'm struggling to justify the Lever selection.Ā  If he doesn't get seriously re-injured then I guess they're vindicated.

I like the ins. Would be happy to see Hore, Salem and may or lever back. Not sure if we should play both lever and may due to match conditioning.Ā

Im just happy that we no longer have to hear about Jack watts and his debut game and hear the pies people say it's our grand final.Ā

Ā

I know that teams rarely line up as selected but I do like Salem and Baker on the wings.Ā  Both have nice kicks, have composure and aim at targets rather random bombs.Ā

And add Fristch as the attacking defender and we should see a marked improvement in delivery i50 from all three.

But, but ... all the experts on here told me he was going to Collingwood, for certain.

Agree 100%. I hated the tanking year then and still do. That Richmond game Is in my top 3 of the worst games I have witnessed. Win as many as possible and worry about the rest in September.Ā

Have you seen the video of Lever's rehab in the USA?

It made me cringe when I was watching the amount of force and twisting and turning he was putting on his knee - and that was in January!

Not sure if the link works but that's great that the boys will be leading melbourne out. I did think it was something the club should do, it's only a small think but it could give the boys just a little lift. I thought it could be done at a home game, not sure why but queens birthday is pretty special though.Ā

Final bench for mine would be Hibberd, Weideman, Garlett and Spargo.Ā

In: Lever, May, Hore, Salem

Out: Kennedy-Harris, O.McDonald, Stretch, J.Wagner

Goody may go with Preuss instead of Spargo, but I don’t think so.

Bingo!Ā

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.Ā  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.Ā  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.Ā  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.Ā

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
