I know the cupboard is pretty bare in terms of depth so limited changes this week. However Fritsch and Lewis are both a mile off. Hore is slow and so we will struggle with both him and Lewis in the backline together.

I'm in QLD next week, and potential to get to Metricon

I've made no arrangements but what's the go with getting in? Assume you just roll up and walk through an unattended gate and take one of the many vacant seats??

Pretty much.... The parking is horrible and the public transport to the ground is pretty bad. Either you park at a close school which usually has a shuttle bus service to the ground or you get the train and then a bus in. If you're staying close enough ie Broadbeach I recommend just getting a cab.

The ticketing is pretty much behind the goals or level 2 general admission other seats are reserved seating you can pre purchase but level two is actually a very good viewing point at metricon.

See you there :)

Changes...

Omac out Preuss in...

keilty down back. And can rotate into the ruck if need be.

It'll get pretty duey once the sun goes down probably around 3 QT so I wouldn't imagine that would play a massive factor

No changes at this stage. Let’s see how they go up North then look to change it up on the 6 day break leading into the Perth trip. I’d like to see Preuss return for Eagles.

In: Pruess (only if really ready)

out: OMac.     Keilty takes OMacs place in defense.  If they only have one tall forward, then there are several possibilities

Fritsch didn't have his best game but that is the first time he has been below par. He always looks a level above those around him in terms of skill. As for Lewis, Goody has made his feelings on the subject very clear: His value as an organiser is worth the occasional clanger. Until May, Lever and Jetta come back I can't see him being dropped.

Only make changes if we have a best 22 player come back in. Preuss for keilty, although he probably should get a second look. Can't believe the calls for omac to go out on the back of 2 plays, O'Brien and Lewis kicked 1 goal between them and that was the direct result of Frost getting lost again, if he plays like that omac will only go out when may and lever are back

Seemed omac was out marked by Gunston a few times.

Can any locals shed light on the best PT options coming from Palm Beach/Currumbin for the day?

Unfortunately the GC train line only goes as far as varsity... So you will likely need to get a bus to varsity then a train to Nerang then a bus to metricon

No change other than for injury.

Saturday saw an improved effort and a win. Reward the team.

Keilty to remain. Needs to build confidence and feel that he belongs. Same for Stretch.

Oscar?  Another chance and to be told to take the game on.

We need to maintain core stability until we get some players back.

How many tall forwards do the Suns have?  if we can get away with playing just Frost down there with T Mac as an emergency tall defender , the change is an easy one

In   -   Preuss

Out - O McDonald

The spring of Keilty to help counter 2 metre Peter?

I like Preuss but Keilty was good, would prefer to give Preuss another week to recover.

Bring both Preuss and Keilty in ... drop OMac immediately ....

"Another chance". Really? How many 'chances' does this bloke get? What u see is what u get. He has reached his potential. Will never have the required physicality and attack on the ball required. Gifted more games than any other. Keilty goes to defence, Preuss in. Please!!

That is worth a second of thought. Keilty must replace OMac; his one exposure showed enough to suggest quite strongly that with a ripper game or two under his belt, he will be an enormous asset. He learned, during the game against the Hawks and also teamed well. He's on the road to something interesting.

Totally agree. Keilty will make a marque and cement his role in the Team. Preuss - if ready to play - will be an asset in many ways.

Would like to hope that Weid can force his way in.

He'll need 4 or five this afternoon with some solid relief rucking

Rather a trade for the Weed. He is not fully switched on, at best. Another OMac, I'm afraid.

I’m staggered that anybody could suggest that Declan Keilty should be dropped next week ahead of Oscar MacDonald.

After those pathetic efforts of Oscar that cost us 2 goals in the last quarter, I’m done with him.  The Club burnt Lynden Dunn to get games into Oscar and he looks like being a C Grader at best.

Absolutely. A wasted jumper, week in, week out, year long, two years long, every time he plays, for that matter. Occupies enormous defensive resources to back up his predictable errors, flaws, weakness, lack of endeavour and snail's pace. ABSOLUTELY.

I would like to think we could beat WCE and Collingwood in coming weeks but I think there is about the same chance of the Weid filling your hope DJ.

Certainly shows about the same intensity.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
