A few years ago, I went through the Straits of Dardanelles and sailed past Gallipoli. The morning was calm and serene and the place where fierce battles were fought was silent. It felt surreal to think of what had transpired there. Sport and war are two entirely different things but I have to admit that I have that same surreal feeling today.

Me too WJ, and a similar result in a sporting sense will unfold tonight.

Woop woop. Was flat for a few days and now ready and raring to go again. Go Dees.

Brace yourself. This is going to be interesting to see what we bring.

Game day or Shame day?

At a minimum I want the team to exhibit some fighting character and courage to honour the Anzacs.  2 soldiers were in talking to the club, lets see what rubs off.

I will be stuck in another event until about 1/4 time and will be looking at the app.  The service at the start is a highlight, and will miss that part.  Not so sure what I will miss for the rest of the night.

Go Dees.  Wishful thinking - we break down their system and win by 32 points.  Reality - (god help us)

Tigers by eleventy seventy points.

It will be a blood bath.

Went to the game 2 years ago when Trac was hobbling, Gawn was out and Smith bdly injured putting his body on the line. We were up in the 3rd but Roo put on a show and our injuries made a difference.  We were hard and tough.

Seems many many years ago.  Not confident  to say the least.

Call me insane, but I think it will be a pretty competitive game.  We generally match up pretty well with the Tigers and there is still plenty of talent and ability in our side.

I'm not sure we can win and play good footy for long enough, but I don't see it being a blood bath.

Apparently not but I guess its needed.

Well Goodwin has promised a better performance.

I honestly believe Lynch & Riewoldt will pose no threat to us tonight. We have them covered.

Should be a fantastic night for Dees fans!!!

It was a gutsy performance that night, simply ran out of legs after dominating for the first 3 quarters and should have been up by more than 20 at 3 quarter time. We also lost Spencer during the second quarter and Mr Watts was rucking again.

Just make it tough again for them where they have to earn their goals all game. Toiges fans have become arrogant, want to see them shuffling in their chairs for as long as possible.

Garlett to kick 5, including the sealer from the pocket on his left foot.

Tom Mac to have 8 marks and kick 3 goals.

Frost to keep Tom Lynch to one kick, which goes out on the full.

Hibberd to dash from half back, take 9 bounces at full tilt and dob it from 20 metres out.

DEMONS!!

I've been on it since the Port loss.

This team has lost any and all credibility it earned last year, and not one thing gives me any confidence they’ve got any idea how to come back in any meaningful way. I fear it’s gonna get very ugly on the biggest night of this club’s year, and if we’re not considered an embarrassment already, tonight will nail home our shame good and proper.

Would love to see some on analysis on the correlation between the pre-game pesimism of demonland against game day performance of the team..

Dees to win.

Going tonight with zero expectations. Would just like to see a good game of football and some resemblance of a Melbourne brand.
