Can recommend a very smooth option to lighten the outlook a little or ease the agony, whichever is the case OD.  I'm not a huge whisky officiado but highly recommend "Hibiki Masters Select".

Never thought I'd enjoy a Japanese model but it's very refined and easy on the palate.  Bottle a bit of a keeper and impressive genuine cork stopper also if you're into aesthetics!

Japanese Whiskies have a very good reputation RN. Don't know that one but will try and check it out on my next visit to DM.

Can’t be any worse. Our forward pressure is a joke. At least he can put one or two defenders  on their arses and make them pay.  Stir the pot with a bit of beefy mongrel and create opportunities for crumbers as well as hopefully disorganise the defence.

It can always be worse. I doubt we will maje major changes. If only. We had Michael 'Juice' Newton then all would be solved.

Sorry Troy but the persistence and team spirit of a peanut.

Glad you don't work for me.

Imagine if the world ran to this schedule and standards.

Team is at lowest ebb much has not gone right but I bet if we have a real chance later in year or do a Tigers and win next much will be made of this period and the reasons and resilience of our group.

its never a straight line upwards and if we have what is a good group and confidence in our system coach and brand then it will overcome our injuries lack of form and things like frustration with umps inconsistencies on Friday night.

We have got to be better than ever from now and all in together players staff and with supporters on board.!

Two wins vs Swans and Saints can kick start our season then it's really in Anzac Eve against the stuttering Tigers.

A bucket of KFC and a loss like the past two weeks might give you a dose of crippling indigestion. I suggest you buy some kaopectate and keep a spew bag handy or be sure to keep the empty bucket.

Dermot brereton gave a succinct analysis of tom on sen on saturday crunch time. Basically Tom's a defender trying to be a forward but without a true forwards trick bag. Runs straight at the ball and thats about it. Derm was being fairly honest and instructive and worth a listen.

TMc's better as a centreline player, and pushing forward from there.   Even if he starts on the h.f.flank and pushes up to wing and attacks from there.  We need his run and marking thru the middle.

Hell,  I'd be happy to start him in the pivot.

Thanks, might have to swish it down with a 1.25l bottle of the black doctor and then fall asleep on the can.

Please, no more mention of Sretch coming in.  Agree with Bullen getting the bullet along with Oscar.  There is another Oscar who hasn't been given a go.  Thought he looked good when recruited back in 2017.

Chicken is fairly soft and won't break the screen. However a stubbie would be devastating.

There lies the big problem, you want two out but have no one to put in their place. The simple fact is that in early April we have so many injuries that the cupboard is bare. There will be minimal changes.

Mate they are not going to drop an AFL captain. Its never happened in AFL history and never will.

Some of you are so thick not to realise that.

He might be "rested" then 'dazzle', that has happened to captains in the past....

Spot on, and is one of many problems we have, surely one of or both of chandler and garlett come in. We lack crumbing skills in back half as well, as soon as ball comes off a pack, it is grabbed by a opposition player

But Paulo, it's compulsory for all Melbourne players to fly for the mark/spoil at the same time to ensure we have no crumbers and the ball is transitioned nicely for an opposition goal. ?

Fairly obvious Tommy Mac is not fit. Obvious in JLT 1 that he was not ready  to play a game. Had both ankles done in off season and should not have been targetted at JLT series.  Needed more weeks in preseason mode to build fitness base. Viney and Oliver, probably Jones in same boat. May too.

In: Dean Kent, Dom Tyson

Out: Players not up to AFLstandard

There are more than two, who replaces the others?

IN: Bucket of KFC

OUT: my hopes and dreams

We have options and sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind but if you do make the changes you have to back them in, the long term risk is instability and possible complete loss of form, however the coaches need to be a bit more daring and courageous, as do the players. -

Go Dee's......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Preuss did little at training this morning. A few laps and some shots at goal. He had a very heavily strapped calf.

Another 10/10 moment brought to you by MFC trading.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
